Does anyone have the spring rates both front and rear versus the riders weight?

    This is for a Wr250.

    Thanx!

Race Tech has a good spring rate calculator on their site. Just an idea for ya.

I have always thought the racetech calculator provides to light a spring rate. I was told this was designed around their gold valve :excuseme:

IMHO a call to Les at LT-racing is the way to go. He knows everything and have piles of springs.

On a side note Richard from house of Horsepower / cannon racecraft is sending me some "special" rising rate fork springs that are supposed to me the shit. We will see.
  4. A reputable shop here in Colorado Springs told me something similar, as well. RaceTech's spring rates are, in his experience, not exactly accurate. IOW, if you buy a set of 44s, you might be getting 42s in reality.

I am 200lb woods rider and run a .45 in the front and a 5.4 in the rear with good results on a '07 WR 250. I agree with Kelly though and give Les a call.

i weigh 200lbs and run 43/44 springs. i usually buy eibach springs. i usually add pre load, and often use springs from other makes.

point being, be creative, and consider yamaha springs (thats a hint....:))

Heres another thing to think about:
Team Honda, on their XR650 Baja 1000 race bike, with 12 lbs of lights up front, going 80 mph off road, ran .43 front springs....

suspension set up has many theories, i subscribe to the 'light springs' school, with bottomimg dampners. I dont mind bottoming out now and then, its the rocks and ruts and cross grain i want to float over.

Of course, its what works for you, 100%, and for sure Kelly is right on about Les and LTR. Ive bought stuff from him too.

motorsportz, i think reads would love to find out what kind of spring rate you end up getting and using. i do think the proper term would be progressive spring rate, a rising rate is usually referred to suspension linkage and geometry..... i have yet to see to many springs wound more then 10 % rate change.....:thumbsup:

my riding weight is 207 and i have just dropped my forks and shock off to be sorted. MPE here in oz is doing the work (very good reputation) and they are going to go from a 5.4 to a 5.6 rear spring.
it's being lowered 40mm front and rear with internal spacers as well.
