yes, some info floating around for months. Looks like it is close or done deal. Some pix of the Shinray are here somewhere. Although they are really just huskys with different colors. With GasGas in the mix this is all going to get real interesting real fast. We will see.

Is like to say I'd choose the GasGas but man the Shineray we saw on here looked like an exact match. What's the point of an xlite motor in a heavy package :)

Pre 2010 non xlite is what I read. 250/310 and 450 platforms. this picture^^^ aligns with that theory.

They never really stopped building them. Still can buy full on motors if you like. CCM and speedbrain use (or used) them. I bet we see it pop up elsewhere too. Like the BMW 650 motor, this is a motor that can and will be used in different models.

add one to your cart :D

When mine wears out, I might just do that! :)
Love to have the WR gearbox actually.
With the efi tuning sorted, the ratios are the only thing the annoy me a little.

Yes, I reckon you're right, likely to see the engine again, its a good base for a bike I believe.

    Dangermouse,

Keep an eye out at Speedbrain for the crate engines. They also do have the 6spd Huskys for the same price but if you want the BMW 5spd wide ratio style engine as a spare. I've seen them go on sale before at about 1690 Euros and another time at 1950 Euros get on there mailing list, then you'll know when all the sales come up.

Are the engines the same for power?
And is it difficult/possible to swap in the hyd clutch off the Husky. Those would both be important to me :)

I believe they are the same power output.

That would be controlled within the ECU for the most part anyway.

The Compression ratio and cam profiles are the same on all the TE's as far as I know and I would think the same as the BMWs with a compression ratio of 12 to 1. The TC engines compression ratio is higher by 1 point at 13 to 1 ratio with different cam profiles.

Its not like there are companies out there offering aftermarket cam selections for these engines that I am aware of.

I am pretty sure you can just swap out the clutch cover to make it hydraulic from your other Husky engine. I know the BMW and Husky Clutches themselves have different plate thicknesses but the actuation cover I think is interchangeable.

I've seen the juice cover installed on the BMW engines before. I haven't tried swapping them back and forth on my 2 engines but I'm about 99% sure its possible. The inner side case I would imagine is identical. Its just painted black on the Huskies.

Looks like a sweet looking bike ,Just make the name change to husky and back in business , I think they use to be honda old CRF and the 300 looks like the earlier models much like the 2007 250cc . maybe I could be wrong not sure . I know down here in victoria the 450 were for sale for about $6000 oooo thats right about the same price for a 2013/14 TE449

Where did you find that pic mate?
    I need a head for a mate's '09 TC250, Shineray might be a cheaper way to buy it =)

If Shineray does manufacture them in the future it would be interesting to see the actual quality of the bike and it's components. It's a well known fact that the Chinese are masters at coping things. But how well it's made would be the big question for me. If the produced a product that is not compromised in the manufacturing side, it could be something to think about. But if it's an el-cheapo then it's not worth even thinking about it in my opinion.

Right .. I actually see and ride with some of the Chinese bikes ... Important parts will just fall off. Even the guys who ride them know this. They are purchased because of their low cost ...

A few Shineray bikes are here ... They look a little bigger and more ~modern than the other Chinese rigs but not sure on their quality ...I'll take a few pics the new time I see one here. Maybe their bikes are well made? I doubt their quality will ever be that of ITL ... I'm not sure they are even concerned with making a bike as well as what most of us call a quality bike that will take the abuse many of us dish out ...

The Chinese and Koreans are showing in the car industry that they can build competing product. High quality from those countries are very possible and the we will see more of it as time goes on.

Ditto for the Chinese.. We know they are capable of building a high quality product but will they in this case ? I would hope so...
