    Hi Guys,

Stupidly, I didn't pay attention when removing the screen filters during an oil change. Can anyone describe which end of the screen filters should go into the engine first? (i.e. towards the centre line of the engine).

This is for both the LHS and RHS screen filters.

    EDIT:
Here's the answer for anyone looking in future:

    Thanks!

Okay, I found this image in the workshop manual, but, impending feeling of doom when I say...what gaskets? (number 11 in the diagram).

I saw nothing resembling a gasket in either of those locations, does anyone else have a gasket there?

On the sprocket side of the engine I do not remember there being any gaskets as such, rather the hole cover has an o-ring on its inside face which provide the seal when the two side bolts are tightend up.

Okay thanks mate, that's a relief as I do indeed have, two o-rings on the plate/cover for the screen filter on the LHS (sprocket side).

Two on the inside of the cover is indeed correct. No need to use new- I’ve been using the originals for 23,000 miles now. Also- plenty of info on these screens in this forum. Short version: best to check that right hand screen from time to time as it does happen that they come apart.
