    HR,

Try www.cyclewerksracing.com. He is also an active vintage & post vintage racer here in Georgia and surrounding states. Worth a try if for nothing else, some other leads.

Setting me up for my 83 Forks.

this is what I am ordering through the thumpertalk Store:

Fork Springs: FRSP-305548 (48kg springs for my ride weight etc)
    Gold Valve System: FEGV-3801
    Gold Valve Adapter Kit: FPEV-AD3802P

15 Weight Oil (matt recommended this for this set up with the Huskies)

He also said he could work the Rear Ohlins over after i had some rides on em with the right weight springs...

Your going to be amazed at the difference
with the Gold Valve Emulators! Have them in my
    84 RM250E Suzuki What a great setup!
Will definitely have them in my 84 Husky 250 when it's done.

When I'm ready, I'm going to drive across town about 1 mile and give Matt my forks ( 83 CR500- going on a 1980 CR390) and have him build them for me....

Sent Matt the 35mm zokes off my '77 Montesa VB250 couple years back and the difference was night and day. Will do the same when the '83 250CR gets here.

    My specs

i have been racing for 35 years, weight 185lbs,84 cr 250 fork specs, allso run my 84 250xc the same,i use atf for oil,oil level 16cm from top of tube forks compressed with springs removed.5lbs air ,stock 25 year old springs.forks are slid up 1/2 inche in tripple clamps.i am a former yamaha and suzuki factory race mechanic 1980 and 81,all the pros ran atf back then.the stock forks work as good as anything.i couldnt push one of these old huskys any harder with any thing else.

Yup, I'm an ATF guy, too. It really works well in this fork. I set mine at 6" so pretty close to that 16cm.

I also like to cut the springs and refinish the ends so there's almost no preload with a 3" spacer. Stiffens the rate just a touch and helps reduce that topping out feeling.
