Hello, Have been doing some browsing and can't seem to find my answer. Given the width of the cast wheel on the Strada, will going to a 130 rear (as opposed to a 140) be a bad choice. I am looking at tire options for a slightly more agressive tire on forest roads, and there seem to be more options for a 130 tire. If this information is on the forum somewhere, sorry I missed it.
I'm planning on going to either a Mitas E-07 or a Heidenau K60 in 140/80-17. You might be able to go for a 130, they're mostly recommended for a 3" rim, I think we have a 3.5" rim. You'd be losing a lot of contact area though (re: traction), and at least with the K60, you'd end up with a different tread pattern on the 130 vs 140. Also, most 130 tires are not designated for tubeless, so that would be a problem -- if you like having your tire hold air. You can run a tube in a tubeless tire, but not some much go tubeless with a tube tire.
I've seen a few posts of people actually using a 150 (150/70, i think?) rear instead just fine, which also adds a few extra choices.
