250-500cc subframe swap99 to 2000?

has anyone swapped the fat sub for the newer 2000 one thats thinner?ive seat tank plastics but b4 i butcher my 04 cr to try,i thought id ask on here,although the rads are different to but i think i can get round that,its quite alot thinner with new style plastics,it looks better to,failing that i need some side panels n mud guards n decals for a 99.thanks
