• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Supposed to be some racing @ The Ranch this weekend

To my SoCal buddies, any teeth to the rumor of a World Two Stroke Championship practice race for 125's up @ The Ranch this weekend?

I had heard/read Husky will be fielding some 125's (144's) this year.

Yep it's true. Feb 24th at The Ranch in Anza, CA. March 24th at Racetown in Adelanto, CA, and the final round at Glen Helen on April 7th. Husky is sponsoring a 125 Pro class at Glen Helen and will offer up 10 2013 CR144's. The chosen riders will get the bike for a month leading up to the race. The 10 riders will come from "Husky's offroad team, magazine test riders, and selected Pros". The displacement limit will be 150cc. I can't find anywhere that Husky is sponsoring anything at the first two rounds. They definately are doing the final round at Glen Helen. It's unclear whether or not they have offered bikes for the other two rounds, billed as "warm-up rounds".

Man I hope they get some serious talent on those 144's and pull off the win. I'd love to see the look on Donn Maeda's face he's always talking trash and acting like Huskies are a joke. I'd like to roost him with my Husky!

Edit: The press I find says they will field 10 "CR125's" Hopefully that is generic talk and they will take advantage of the 150 rule or it will be an orange tide.....
