250-500cc Suspension shop and steering damper questions...

I've had the '14 WR300 for a year now and have really enjoyed the bike. Riding season is coming and I want to have the suspension tailored for my weight and riding habits. The addition of a Scotts steering damper is also on the list of mods this year.

I've read some good things about ZipTy's suspension service. Have any of you had experience with them? Price? Turn around time? Other suggestions about getting the forks and shock modified?

How about the Scotts? I've only seen BRP mounts for the Scotts. I'm not a huge fan of the sub mount as the handlebar is moved up so high. You either have to live with an "ape hanger" bar position or buy a super flat/low bar bend. Flat bars won't hold the hook of tie downs when transporting the bike. Is there a "on top of the bar" mount option for the WR's that I haven't seen? How about going with a new top triple clamp vs. replacement bar mount for the Scotts?

I have used ZipTy's for my suspension on my 2013 Husky TC449. The OEM suspension was way off and Ty did a great job at a real good price on mine. I have not had to even turn a clicker after I got it back.
He does great work, but sometimes the turn around time is a bit extended, but not too bad. I had the forks and shock resprung and revalved for my weight and it was perfect.
I could not be any happier!

I used Solid Performance in PA (he has a website) on my 11' WR300 suspension was perfect for what I asked for. Evan was Mike Lafferty's Chief KTM mechanic when he was winning National Enduro Titles.

Anybody try Zip Ty's removable bar mount/stabilizer mount kit on a WR250/300?

If it will work on a WR300, it'd be a way to get a Scott's stabilizer mounted without having to use a BRP sub mount. Again, keeping the bars at the stock height is what I'm looking for.

The main reason I'm looking at Scotts, I can adjust the damping without getting off the bike like you'd have to do with the WER damper.

Called and talked to Kim at Zip Ty. The bar/stabilizer mount is for Yamaha's only. It will not fit Italian Husqvarnas. Bummed about that. Really don't want to sub mount a Scotts.

The turn around time for suspension work in one week. Which, is pretty dang good in my opinion.

May be able to. Not sure I have the wing span for that.

Certainly can't do that while riding down the trail. With the Scotts, you can adjust the damping in real time, without stopping at all. Just reach down with your left hand and move the knob (even easier with the big knob kit). I change the damping to changing trail conditions and stay moving. It's no more difficult than grabbing the bite valve on my camel back for a drink while riding.

I'm sure the WER is a great damper, its just not for me.
