After my fiasco with the front forks, I decided to send them off to David at Fast Bikes. I'm having them revalved and rebuilt with the compression adjusters so hopefully no more wallowing, weeble wobble rides. Can't wait to get them back! My new tank is here as well, so by the end of next week I should have a "new" bike again. Or at least one that'll not leak and handle well!!!
It will be a completely different bike...I had mine done a couple of years ago too. Did you tell your suspension tuner to take into account the extra 20kg of fuel over the front forks? When I got mine back it seemed too hard but it was because everything was new and stiff. After a couple of rides it bedded in nicely. I did a 6 hour enduro in sand on the first ride and it nearly killed me!!! When you get it back, it's really important to use your clickers all the time so you get a feel for how much they change the dynamics. Sometimes I change my clicker settings 2 or 3 times a ride. Enjoy mate and let us know what you think. Stu
Is this the fast Bikes in Michigan?? I need to figure out where to send my fork off too. Let me know what you think of their work. THanks.
I'm definitely no stranger to suspension setup, but these Marzocchi's are so primitive in their adjustability I couldn't get them to work with the rear shock no matter what. The lack of compression damping is a huge deficit if you do any kind of spirited riding. I went with Fast Bike Industries in NC. His track record with Sumo's is excellent and apparently he can get these Marzocchi's working very well without going to a completely new cartridge. Well see. They're due to be here in the next few days so all I need is a dry day!!
I agree. Can't believe they even allowed them to roll off the shelf without comp clickers. Might as well buy a klx 450...hehehe
