Didn't someone on here have a source or was a source for the NOX inspired swingarm decals?

    Similar to this one:

Or if someone has the means to produce them (with the gunsight in white, outlined in red :D)...I really just want a large top half of the gunsight for both sides.

    Anyone?

I want a black swing arm. Does anyone know if this is possible? I wonder if you can "strip" the old clear anodizing off and then anodize black onto the swingarm.

HuskyDude had his rims anodized red and then had them re-done black, so I'd say yes....and black anodizing would be cool.

Mine's at the powdercoater right now...by midweek or so hopefully I'll have some pics up.

I've done the powder coating thing. It is ok but I don't think it would work for a swingarm. It would have to be anodized.

My ear were ringing...:D I thought I better check back on here.
There is a limit to what type of aluminum can be anodized.
So I've been told. Apparently the alloy the rims are made of is OK.
Could not say about the swingarm. If you think it has a clear anodizing on it to begin with then maybe you're in luck. Kelly from Motosportz might know a bit on anodizing, he has some of his parts done also.
If you do get it done, FYI once they strip off the old, your swingarm will be dull/not shiny.
If you want your swingarm to sparkle. You will have to polish it lots before they anodize it black.
You could alway get it Powder coated like I8AKTM.
Maybe he'll post some pics to see how it turns out.
One thing I know about Power coating is it can hide any microscopic cracks in the metal.
But pretty rare to have a swingarm crack.

The guy I talked to is foxracing from Singapore here's his bike (post #408)
He claim to have powdercoated the swing arm and then put the decal on
No word on where he got it from

    :excuseme:

Yep....that's just like what I want....and if I could get a little red thrown in there for good measure, Whoa Nelly!

The stock NOX decal is notched out for the swingarm plug on that model like my '06 510 was...my TXC doesn't have the plug, don't want the notch out of the logo.

    powder coat

I would go with powder coating. It is likely the swingarm can be stripped and reannodized by the annodizer, but lots of times, when switching colors, the job can come out a little blotchy or the color will fade. We used to do this all the time where I used to work. We made lab equipment and everything was alum. Some was black and some was clear. Sometimes the annodizer would mix them up and have to strip and redo parts, so I've seen quite a bit of it. Sometimes it comes out great and sometimes, just o.k. Problem with stripping and reannodizing might be around some of the weld lines, wheras the rims are formed with no welds. I have a Yamaha WR-250R. The swingarm is alum., but is powered coated silver-grey. The WR-250X models are powdered-coated black. Also, after powder coating, they will apply a clear coat that will help protect the color and make it shine like new. Powder coating would be my first choice for this job if it were my bike.

Your pretty much right on here. I think it might come out blotchy and inconsistent. Powdercoat would look best but only on a street bike. Any scratches are going to look horrible as there will be shiny silver scratches on a black part.

I heard somewhere on here that the swingarm is heat treated and the finish should not be altered.....???

I'd settle for some of those cool husky shroud decals.....wonder if we can get these ???

I think I'll start a new thread, entitled "Swingarm decals- who's got them and where can I get one?"

Or you could edit the title of your first post and that would change the title of thread. Just in case you did not know that.
