Looks like they are going to be carrying on the red head Husqvarna motors. They have a 650 enduro with the mikuni fuel injection. If the engine is the same, grab the ecu and fit it to our bikes. Just a thought.

Pretty sure its based of the old 630s. Bmw kept the 650 asfar as i know

Right! It is the old Husky 630 engine. Has nothing to do with our BMW based 650 ex-Rotax engine. The ECU is completely different!

Any opinions on how the 630 engines compare to the Rotax-based 650 in ours?

The TR650 has a Loncin engine, based on the rotax design.

Absolutely correct - It could be described as a Chinese copy of a Rotax, but BMW knew that would not be good for sales, particularly in the USA.
Instead they described it as a Rotax design built for BMW by Loncin and missed out the China part.
Either way it is a Chinese made Rotax, copy or not.
