Still working on my map of roads and ST in my immediate AO ... And the Danasan area came up for review ... Sacsac is in the immediate area so I checked it out also ... My process is to scope an area out on google map as much as possible and then ride it to verify what is there and then record it on my own map ... Google maps are limited by clouds and bad map images so this takes 2-3 trips usually to get an area covered ... Also, I did not plan to go over to the Tañon Strait as it lies between the islands of Negros and Cebuon the west side of the island... A communications issue got me started over and I kept going ... Cool road area on the way to Sacsac, which is on the way to Danasna ... It shows the line worn out by the local guys riding their bikes ... I usually try to stay out of it and blast in the rougher stuff that is not traveled but ~perfect for the Husky ... Sacsac school Rock garden along the way to the school ... this is actually a small water fall that only runs after a rain ... I though Woodschick might like this flower Stopping point for a drink ...
This a a small cooperative store for Sacsac .... Those bottles on the top self are rum ... ~75 cents a pint ... This is pretty much the end of this road as it turns into ST and it heads off into this valley as far as I can tell ...It was just a little too steep for me to attempt on my own .. This BRGY is at the bottom of the valley ... That is a river at the bottom ...not a road .... It must be on higher ground than it looks or it would flood at every rain .... Looks like a land slide waiting to happen but also very cool from above ... I wanted to go there and this is how I got diverted to Asturias as when I asked how to get here, I was given directions to Asturias ... Back on road to Danasan and saw this big rock .... This is the Danasan ECO Adventure Park ... It has a zip-line ride and horseback riding ... They sell beer there also :0 )
This is the split in the road going to Asturias to the left and Danasan(Proper) to the right ... Signs are far between and few here so seeing the next 2 signs on the military was a little strange ... I'm not interested in seeing any military here in action ... But I do return here shortly and head west to the west side, thinking I was going to the small BRGY in the valley at first .... So I backed out and went right, through Danasan(Proper) ... This road also ended and turned into ST just outside of town... This bridge was at the tail end ... It's not motorcycle friendly and that is a little strange here ... This guy is turned into my guide ... we hooked up along the way and he escorted me across the island to the west coast..... His bike is all 'woods ready' for a street bike and he was topping it out pretty much across the mountains roads ...
Some sort of rock site along the way ...they use this stuff for roads ... It sort of goes on as rocks, then breaks up and packs down and gets very hard ... but also gets slick when wet ... Welcome sign to San Isidro ... That road is heading off north but turns back west and cuts through the woods to the coast ... I'll take it next time I go over there ..... This guy is some sort of wood hauler ... Hard to believe he goes through the mountains with that much weight .... That forked stick on his left is his kick stand ...Judging from those antler high mirrors, he's seriously concerned with traffic from behind ... That is my guides bike in the back .... Notice the mud flap, air pump, rope, crash bars, and fat tire... and steel rack on the rear for hauling things ... he is probably a taxi guy and those are foot pegs .... New, hand written, welcome sign on new road ... New road just bulldozed... ....
Here are couple more shots of the road going over ... Not sure why that rock is purple ... You can see that white stone being used in the ruts ... This is the first open shot of the ocean I came across on the west side ... there are islands all out in there, Negros is probably to the left side and since it was low tide, people were all over the place looking to get a free meal ... I snapped the pic and started back quickly as I had a long ride back on the Husky ... I did not have the Viper mounted so exact mileage is unknown but it was quite a run ... > 150K I'd guess ....
Yep .... not sure what those 2 little boards in front are gonna keep out .... It turned out better than I thought it would .... that wall behind it is big, but not that big ... That is a road to the left that goes up somewhere ... I'll go up it next time, if I have time ....
Very nice. Where is that guy when I need firewood?--and I will take a bottle of Rum. Thanks for posting this little bit of the Philippines jungle.
Finally had a reason to ride back over across the island ... I went ahead and took another pic at the pit and climbed up that road to the top of the rock ... The view from the top ....
It worked out Ok but I was hedging too far right and a rut or something kicked me into the wall ... After that, it was just survival mode ... I didn't want to walk the bike back down for sure as it was too far ... The push over the top was a little technical because the footing was so bad and I couldn't get a good push forward ... It was a puss effort really ... I let a few things distract me from the climb ...
