Always wanted a Husky, just bought a 02 cr 250 great bike but its a monster in the tight stuff.I have read a few threads about swaping a wr ignition, pipe (it has the stock PC) and flywheel weight. My question, will these mods make a change in the power curve?Any other sugestions? Thanks.

Will change it completely. FWW, ignition, throttle cam and it is a tractor.

Try a little richer jetting. Like one size on the pilot jet and a clip on the needle, or the next size nozzle.

I have the same bike and do not find it a handful at all. Short shift and lug it.

    Where are you located?

I would consider sending you my 2012 WR ignition (stator, flywheel, CDI/Coil) in exchange for your CR setup. A lot of people are looking for the '02 CR setup you have.

Thank you for all the replys.I have not ridden a bike in many years, just sport atvs(450s) and a GasGas 300 atv, missed two wheels.I just need more time on it to get used to it.I bought the bike in Springfield Ill.The seller knew nothing about the bike,he was selling it for his brother. The seller said the engine was fresh from Halls cycles with mods by Gordon, know idea who that is.msmith I am in St.Louis,Missouri.For a 2t it does lug well, crack the throttle with traction and the front wheel is pointing skyward.Would be fun if I were a better rider!

Try a flywheel weight and the G2 Ergo throttle cam. Those are cheap mods and easy to install. If that doesn't do it, then you can start looking at ignition and pipe changes.

i have a 360, its the WR version. It tooo is a MONSTER. However, I can trail ride behind the kids almost at idle the entire time or if they pick up the pace, and I am still in cruise mode. I just upshift, normally 2 up over where my brain says I should be. So, if I think I should be in first to climb a certain section or for slow control and power. I upshift to 3, and just let that beast go without getting all scatterbrained, its an easy ride, even if you get crazy with the throttle, just don't stay in it, otherwise, you might be in for a treat. I can't imagine the 250 being much different, try it. I agree with Motosportz, short shift and see how low can you go by just lugging it. Mine is amazing. I can go almost down to a slow jog in Fourth gear, and twist the throttle and it doesn't take long, before that big beast is calling your name and asking you who your daddy is!

I believe this is my old bike....if it still have the pro-circuit exhaust on it, I would suggest running the stock exhaust from a WR. It really helps to smooth out the power. At the time, I had both and swapped them back and forth depending on the ride.
