The stock pipe will crack by the spring. Find the pipe you like and by it now. I just picked up an SRT pipe, have not used it yet but I will be racing with it in the morning. Is your bike part of the recall? If so take it in get the forks fixed. Read the manual and try all the setting for the power valve and map switch. There are few different settings. Then just enjoy.

Is there a map switch on the handle bar?

What pipe and muffler brand works the best? Are there pipes that influence where the power band come on?

Is the te300 wr tranny with wr porting or is the cr & wr porting the same?
Is there a cr pipe that fits the te300 also?

Forgive my dumb questions but I'm a 300+lb rider and I'm interested in the te300.

There is an optional map switch that installs on the handlebar. I believe it has two positions, stock timing and advanced timing. Trailtech also makes one.

The pipes and transmissions are totally different than the red WR and CR Huskys. The whole TE is almost identical to the KTM XC-w in regard to motor and transmission.

There are several pipe and silencer combinations available. The stock setup is very good. Before spending any money on exhausts I would tune the power valve to your liking. It's very easy and inexpensive to do. The bike comes with three springs. Green, yellow(stock) and red. The green makes a very linear curve and the red is quite a bit more pipey. The yellow is kind of in the middle. You can also fine tune whatever spring you decide on with the external adjuster.

The TE transmission is the same as KTM's XC-w line. It has slightly lower 1st and 2nd ratios than the XC version and the same 3rd through 6th.

The TE cylinder is also TE same as on the XC-w. It is slightly lower compression than the TC or SX models. It is possible to install an SX head and CDI along with thinner base gasket if you need more power.

    Hope this helps!
