• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC TE 300 Rekluse EXP Woods Settings

Smw

Husqvarna
B Class
I finally got around to picking up a rekluse for the new bike. I've read a few different recommendations on setup, Some recommend using the stock core spring (medium) and stock Belleville spring, others, like Slavens, recommends light core springs and heavier 280 Belleville spring.

I'm curious what others here might be using for tight woods/Enduro settings?

Cheers,

14 KTM 300 xcw: Heaviest wedges, 280 belleville at Y, and running the OEM steel plates (no slots) instead of the Rekluse plates. Couldn't get it to hook up to my liking with any of the Rekluse slotted plates. Had to use some of the OEM .040" steels to get the stack height right. Works VERY well now.

Welp, finished up the install today. Fairly straight forward with three exceptions.

1. Apparently my new cordless driver is micro compact which I found out only after I had removed the clutch pack. So into the truck I go and after a quick trip to Sears to pick up an adapter it was back to the garage to finish the tear down.

2. The "right" way to torque down the new clutch hub isnt made clear in the directions. Youtube search to the rescue. Helpful hint, enlist a friend to work on the install with you.

3. You cannot really bolt down the clutchpack install untill the stock slave clylinder is replaced with the adjustable rekluse unit. I found with the stock slave cylinder in place the throwout rod was too far out causing a large gap between the throwout plate and the exp disk. It was almost a 1/4 inch and one could pull the exp disc free from the basket. Not good. The manual doesnt mention the need to replace the slave cylider to have it sit properly. So you are left questioning if you have the right parts, the clutch pack is installed correctly, etc. Anyway, after a call to rekluse they mention this happens and to continue.

So its now installed and the gap properly adjusted. I ended up using the slavens setting(light exp springs, 280 bellville, and the z on the bellville spring holder. Once the snow melts I'll update a ride report here.

So what's the verdict? I just installed the exp 3.0 in my TC 250. Testing it out tomorrow on some tight single track.

what ever came in the 3.0 and the oem stock belville spring. still getting used to the thing may opt for some changes

no just saying I installed the kit as it came,, the oem exp unit with the oem stock belville spring on Z/3 setting as I become more used to the thing I think a may want a more solid engagement, it come in easy and ramps up a little slow for me as we drop off ledges is where I notice it. Its late to raise the front...I can adjust more in my timing.

The exp unit itself can be tuned for when it engages. I just got back from testing it out and I was feeling the same thing you're talking about with engagement. I'd call rekluse and see what they suggest. I called them yesterday and the guy was knowledgeable and willing to help.
