TE 449 gas tank (USA vs the rest of the world)

    Other Motorcycles:
    300 XTR
    The US model TE 449s come standard with a 9.5l (2.5 US gal) gas tank, however, the rest of the world's TE 449s come standard with a 8.5l (2.25 US gal) gas tank.

    Is the large fuel capacity due to a larger primary tank or secondary tank?
    Are these tanks interchangeable between US and ROW models OR must one change the entire rear chassis?
