Just purchased a TE 450 2008 Model with 600 klms (21 hrs) on the clock. I was wondering what areas of maintenance I should focus my attention prior to hitting the trails. I have noticed that side stand is a little unstable, is this related to to the rear shock setting ? What is the oil capacity ?

Thanks in advance, any tips are greatly appreciated !

Oil = right about 1600ml with changing the filter and cleaning both screens
I change the oil in mine every 15 hours of riding or before.

Check the valves if it has not been done already(supposed to be checked within the first 20 hours)

Clean and re-oil air filter on a regular basis(I do mine after every bigger ride or about every 5 to 10 hours) The cleaner you keep the air filter,,the longer the motor will last.

Just a few things to get you started,,enjoy.

grease shock linkage and steering head bearings-

that kickstand has made a lot of people upset-in general, if the rear is jacked up- can be worse I am sure....

....which reminds me- check your static and race sag- and set preload correctly, change spring as needed for your weight.

    :thumbsup:congrats!

That kick stand is cracking me!! It's tempting to cut the tab off and use one of Kelly's. My brother's 06 te510's kickstand is so much better. Anyone know of an aftermarket one for these bikes? It may have to be a home fab project.
