Well I thought Id post up a thread on my new toy - 2014 TE 250 with only 14 low hours on it

Ive had it a couple of months and I am happy with it but as usual there a a few things to sort out
Ive fitted higher bend Renthal bars and it has Steg pegs .

The suspension feels ok to me . The handling is much better than older KTMs with PDS
The rear seems perfect for my weight at 180 lb . It sits slightly lower than the WR 300 which is good . I may get front revalved but Ive adjusted rebound back and it feels ok .
Maybe a little bit more unpredicatable and deflects a bit more than the revalved WR
But steers better and feels lighter .
Feels better on single track .

The clutch feels fantastically light and rear brake doesn't lock up and feels great on down hills

Feels like I could hill climb and descend better on this bike as more in control

It goes very well - has lots of down low and very responsive . This was evident when ridden back to back with a Sherco 300.

I ve been happy with how it runs but it does seem to be running slightly rich
Running 165 main and 35 pilot and stock needle on 3 - N8RK

Ive tried the NECJ needle on last ride and wasn't that happy with it

It seemed to make it a bit less responsive but pulls hard more at mid range
Looking at that needle it seems to leaner ( thicker diameter ) but a fair bit thinner near tip ( richer)
I will try a richer pilot to see if that works better with it as others seem to say it needs it .

It also seemd to use more fuel with NECJ needle change only - so overall a richer needle

Ive adjusted the float height to sit lower so will see how that goes too

Ive recently fitted a titanium Akropovic silencer which I found cheap secondhand ( new $900 from dealer )
It is much larger than stock but weighs 700 grammes less . ( 1.5 pounds ) Sounds similar so far .

It still had original Michelin tyres on it and they weren't too bad . The rear allows a bit of predictable sliding . Just put new Bridgestone X30s on it

Nice ride! I like 14 colors the best. Good luck on jetting and needles, it's a long task.......

Also, make sure you adjust your power valve to your new carb settings.
    They have to coordinate together.

I agree they did a great job on graphics. My knee guards are hard on tank graphics so I covered them with soft grip tape. I also changed original side panels and guards for some cheap ones to keep original ones nice.

Its running the red spring . I quite like it so haven't played with it yet .

I reduced length of clutch lever to allow two finger useage . Changed to 13 - 50 gearing .

I also scored a complete top end kit for a KTM 250 sx for only $100 from guy with silencer . I am hoping that's a direct fit later on .
Not sure about whether to get a full pipe guard or not. Pipes are cheap .

Well to explain - you have to spend $300 on a decent Force pipe guard . ( heavy and a dirt catcher ?) I could put on an old stock one for $100 to 150 or an fmf for less than 300 . If I dent it its probably going to be still be ok and I can put original one back on when I sell the bike .

I know others have gone through a lot of pipes but I haven't many taken huge wacks in the past . ( but I aint Graham Jarvis either )
