Any ideas how to keep the air box plastic from getting destroyed by my boots rubbing? These side panels are in the worst spot on the KTM's/ Husky's.

mine was getting a brown stain on it from my boots when i only pressure washed bike. now after every ride i pressure wash then sponge clean with CT18 truck wash then pressure wash again, the truck wash & sponge clean removes the brown staining on plastics that pressure washer doesn't move & bike looks a lot better & it's also got rid of brown stain from boots rubbing.

not sure if that is what you meant by airbox plastic being destroyed but hope that helps a bit anyway

Not too worried on the staining. My dang boots are gouging the bottom corners. It appears ill have to replace them every season at this rate.

That actually adds sufficient protection? Tried gorilla tap and chewed right through it. Even with two layers. Maybe these boots just suck?

I use thick clear laminate that we use on dirt bike graphics.
Call in to a sign writers and see if they have some or can order some in for you.
    Works great.

these things are racing dirtbikes.......not concours vehicles.....

This is mine after some months with the OEM 14 plastics, I have since gone through a few sets of 14 style and now later with the 16 shrouds and side covers same thing, they wear from boots and knees. Its just plastic or graphics, even the inbed stuff wears through, they are sacrificial, nature of the beast. Clean the best you can and ride the crap of the bike.
