246 pounds does not sound right. Actual scale weight? My TXC is no where near that at 228 (plus or minus some for non certified scale)

BTW putting in the ridiculously small and light Turntech battery and taking off the unneeded fan on my TXC. Should be in the 225 range when done. Feels even lighter.

Just looked at one of those and in person rocking it side to side it felt almost as light as the '10 TXC250.
The stock Karoos it comes with :censored: though! Gonna have to figure on $100+ for tires in your purchase price!
It can easily be made to be a fully street legal TXC with the only real difference being the forks.

Do we know that for sure? Jury is out weather everything else is the same, cams, compression, ignition and mapping etc. In the past the TXC's were significantly stronger running than the TE's.

I'm just going by what I've been told but I guess until someone opens up the engines for a comparison or someone from inside Husky confirms it's all speculation.
Outside of that it's definitely in a much better chassis for serious dirt work and a helluva lot lighter and more balanced then the series it's replacing.
This much I do know though, whoever made the decision to spec them with Karoos should be fired! :banghead:

I believe the TXC's had a steeper steering head angle than the TE's in the past.
I've been waiting until more TE's and TXC's get out there so we can find out for sure. I'd like to know if there are things that can't be corrected easily like frame geometry and flywheel weight.

I can't see these bikes comming in aroud 225.I just scaled a 09 KTM 200xc with a gallon of fuel in it at 230. I'm taking my scales to the dealer next week. I'll let you know my findings

so minus 6 pounds off that. Does it have anything non factory on it? Little things add up quick.

in the end I could care less what my TXC weighs as it feels SUPER light. Everyone who rides it comments that it feels very 125 like. Feels just like my 125 with 2-5 pounds more and a much stronger engine.

After having ridden one I echo your comment. It's lighter feeling then the numbers say and you can easily cut a couple of pounds off by replacing the battery with a turn-tech 2.5 and removing the rad fan.
Surely there will be an aftermarket muffler option down the road that would eliminate even more weight as well.

Doing that now. 4-6 pounds the EZ way. the TC ti muffler is a few pounds lighter. This can EZ be a ridiculously light bike. Even though it feels 125 light as is. Weight is really a non issue on this bike IMHO.

Yep it is a non issue!
In spite of what might or might not be differences engine wise etc. between the TXC and TE the one thing we can say is regardless weight will be a non issue for the TE as well with lots of easy weight savings to be had with that one as well.
