Hi all just bought a te410 2000 year, goes well get up to around 140k's, but won't wheelie off the throttle, even with lower than stock gearing, can someone tell me is this normal?? or is my engine sick?? no noises, starts first turn no smoke, however, fair bit of backfiring on the closed throttle, mind you someone has removed the packing from the silencers, i have put a new needle and float valve in, new plug, and the valve clearances are OK, so is it sick or am i wanting it to do what it was never capable of in the first place?? please help :banghead:

Are you getting traction or just spinning out? My problem was that I was to hard on the throttle...

TE410E is pretty weak in stock trim. The bike is heavy, with a front end weight bias. First thing you need to do is make sure the jetting has been upgraded to what would be in a 2000 TE410 kickstart only enduro model. I think you'll need a cam, high compression piston and race exhaust system to wake the bike up. Call Husky Sport for some advice.

The 410 is a good runner, but will only wheelie in the lower gears, and only down low in the revs. She will wheelie on demand, but only in the sweet spot. On mine, and my buddies, this is 1st or second gear in the lower half of the rpm's.

Are you speaking of a 410 or 410E?

That bike is work to wheelie in stock trim as Norm has said. The popping or backfiring is a lean condition.
I used to bounce it off something or preload the front, then gas it.

TE410E is heavier and has less power than your 410.:busted:

cheers guy's thanks for the comments, look's like i have some deep thinking to do!!, taking the comment about a high comp piston and cam, what sort of power increase will this give, ???

the problem i have is that here in the uk, a wossner piston kit is £180 ($300), then if i can locate a outlet that retails a high lift cam for the te410, im sure the cost will not be far off the same, with twin silencers fitted new end cans will be around the £350 ($600) mark, i would be expecting a fairly punchy bike, and stunt god wheelies!!! .. thanks for your help guys, its appreciated.....

Hi there ,thanks for making a comment, basicaly traction is no issue as im trying to wheelie on the asphalt road, so im at aloss other than this model is just to damn heavy, taking into account theres no difference between a 610 and a 410 other than cc dispalcment, but my thinking is if a drz400 will wheelie, then so should the te410, size wise they are the same...?

Many thanks for your comment though
    regards
