Te510 (fi) Intake Manifold Boot Same As Swm?

    Hi all,

    My second inktake boot between the fuel injector and head on my TE510 (2009) failed again last weekend. I'm based in Australia and like everywhere else, we get lousy NOS intake manifold boots that are close to $200 AUD and come with pre-cracked rubber that is harder than slate. So yes, they fail.

    Currently I am trying to work out what part I need. There appears to be two part numbers that could work;
    i. 8000B0596 - $185AUD or thereabouts
    ii. 8000B0357 - also stocked by SWM for their RS500R, $86AUD

    The SWM intake boot in the RS500R has the same part number as option ii. Has anyone tried the SWM part, 8000B0357, on their TE510/450? Which of the two part numbers will work?

    You need part 8000B0357 that is for fuel injected bikes, part 8000B0596 is for carb bikes.

    Thanks Rancher1, I'll order the SWM part then I think (8000B0357). Once I get ahold of it I'll put it together and post again on how it fits. Hopefully the material is improved over the old Husqvarna boots, they were pretty lousy. I think it will be a good couple of weeks before I get to it yet I will report back. Cheers!

    I paid for the part yesterday so it should arrive Friday or Monday morning. I have my bike garaged some 300km away though so it could be a couple more weeks before I get to it. The intake manifold and o-ring cost me about $105 AUD to the shop. From memory the Husqvarna TE510 manifold and oring were almost $200 AUD back in late 2014 when I last ordered them. Given that they were garbage anyway, I'll be pretty happy if these parts fit up to my Fuel Injected 09 TE510. The parts I ordered through SWM were;

    8000B0357 (Intake manifold)
    8A0028553 (Intake manifold o-ring)

    When my dad's 2013 WR300 started to show cracks I ordered a DCVMX plastics aftermarket intake manifold. That was back in 2015 and the part has been great, it is lasting the way any rubber intake manifold should. Unfortunately they only do the 2T Italian Huskies so I'm hanging my hat on the SWM parts being superior and decent value!

    As an FYI, the WR300 intake manifold came from this company. I highly recommend them if you're needing a 2T intake manifold.

    The intake boot (8000B0357) and o-ring (8A0028553) turned up at the SWM dealer this week and I picked it up today. They look like they're decent quality, perhaps a bit better than the OEM Husqvarna parts were yet maybe not as good as comparable Japanese or other Euro manufacturers. Until I have the OEM husky stuff next to the SWM parts I won't be able to verify fitment or quality, unfortunately. This could be 3 weeks or so from now yet I'll keep you all updated.

    Well I finally got a shot at working on my bike over the weekend. I can confirm that the two intake manifolds are exactly the same part. i.e.

    8000B0596 = 8000B0357


    Note, the o-rings match too. The parts swapped straight in and the bike is running a lot better (it's running..). Anyway, it needs a bit more work done on it yet this job is off the "to-do" list now!
    It appears that the SWM part is made of the same material and so will likely fail the same way as the Husqvarna part. Sorry for the lack of photos here, my phone screen smashed (again) and I couldn't get pictures.

    No worries. Just as I fixed one problem, I noticed my clutch pressure was no good, very light. I think I'm losing fluid through the slave cylinder yet I haven't ruled out that I may have pinched the braided line when prying out the old intake manifold (yeah I know, it sounds unlikely but I may have to diagnose that one). There's no fluid leaking from the master cylinder or connections so its almost certainly an issue downstream form there. My KTM 625 did the slave and I recall that brembo part being about $200AUD. More money. Always more money.

    Anyway, buy the SWM parts and keep ridin!

    old thread I know, but I thought I’d add to it. I ordered part # 8000B0596.

    I can confirm that they are not in fact the same part. As you can see. The distance between the holes is different.

    Rancher1's info however is correct;
    Therefore 8000B0357 is NOT equal to 8000B0596
