TE511 FMF slip on

    I added a FMF Power core muffler and compared to the stock pipe it was 6lbs lighter. The performance was noticeable, especially the throttle response. It is however very loud

    I just did the same to my 511, full FMF megabomb. I took the insert out, JB welded a spark arrestor screen on it and it is quieter. Still loud but tolerable. Seems to run just as strong maybe stronger down low. FMF makes several inserts and i think ZipTy might be working on something as well.

    I welded part of the stock insert to fmf quiet insert and its perfect now, quiet

    I did the same by JD welding a screen cove to the part you are holding onto. forgot to snap a pic.

    The 'end' of mine is solid so the exhaust has to flow 'around' and in through the screens on the sides. I think that makes it quiet down a lot.

    someone buy a damn dyno and show me it doesnt make a difference and I will gladly put the quietest insert possible. Unfortunately When my 1 1/8" quiet fmf end cap shot out the end the bike WOKE THE F UP! So no way. Riding down the freeway cap shot out, bike then cruised at part throttle beetter and wide open acceleration was WAY better! Pulled to the revlimiter.

    Been there, done that, about 2hp more with my modded insert. Stacy says she can hear me coming 5 miles away. With the Akro on there is a serious reduction in hp, but no one can hear me coming. :excuseme:
