All, everytime i go online to purchase some extra master links for the te 630 my eyes get blurry and i get a headache from all the choices available. in researching online it appears that my chain is a 520 d.i.d. v6. I can't fine this type of master link online. closest i see is a 520 did vm which i read on the interwebz that you can't use for the v6. anyone know which master link i need to buy? and can someone recommend a good chain breaking/installing tool? thanks!
You can get a pretty good chain tool, fairly inexpensively, at Mike's XS. http://www.mikesxs.net/products-7.html?category_id=7.1 Look 3/4 the way down the page. I use clip style master links on my 610's chain.
The 1988 Yamaha Warrior came with a DID 520 V6 chain: http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/model_years/4556-yamaha-1988-warrior-YFM350XU/assemblies/131125 The chain is discontinued, but the master link shows up as: http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/prod...81-87011-00-hard-parts-joint-chain-did520v-fj I have no clue whether the master link at the end of that URL is useful on a 630 or not.
