I´m posting some pictures of my CR 400 -69 and my dirty CR 400 -71 cylinder as an answer to a question from member HVA 400.
There should be a gap between the cylinder and cylinder head.
You are able to see the four pinbolts in the gap when you look from the side of the cylinder.
I hope you can see it on the picture of my dirty racer.

    Thanks flor the pictures!
This is the bike the 400 cylinder and a NOS cylinderhead :) will be installed in.
Now it´s a hybrid with a 360 cylinder, it works great but I hope it will be more fun with a real 400 cc

    My 400-69

It´s the stock small frontbrake, now I use a wheel with the larger 160 mm brake. On the picture it´s a silverpainted "black" frontfork, but I change to the stock front fork with new springs and a special oilmix, works much better

Other mods: NJB shocks, newer HVA handlebar, mid 70´s exhaust, Gunnar gasser, skidplate and reinforced frame under the engine, Mikuni carb, aluminium fenders, Stainless steel brake stay, rear brake lever and footpegs. And a couple of spacers and other small parts made in SS an aluminium.
    A little newer pictures.
