I'm wondering if anyone has used one of these tires on their 610.
I'm about ready to get a new rear tire for the winter riding season
and I've always been intrigued by the Teraflex but thought it may be a
good idea to get some feedback from anyone who's used one on their
    610. Basically I'm just looking for a good knobbie for mud and softer
terrain and DOT Certified is not a must. I'm also considering a Kenda
Trackmaster II 760. Price will definitely be a factor this time around.
Also, where's a good on-line source for tires?

I would not do it. WAY heavy tire, will be very odd on the street. just goofy IMHO. Had several friends try them and not buy another. Good for some stuff terrible for others and makes your rear suspension suck. (to much unsprung weight).

    Just my opinion.

I had one on my TE510. Good for 50% of it's tread life.

Surprisingly quiet on pavement compared to other aggressive DOT knobbies, no lack of traction in the slop.
But you will notice the weight when you first install it.
I wouldn't recommend it for extended highway duty in hot weather. The tire heats up & melted two of my tubes to the point of getting a flat.

I was riding the TAT & the highway part was mostly unavoidable.

At the 50% tread stage it started riding like a tractor tire. I wasn't happy, some have said it gets better once worn down, in my experience I'd have to disagree. But it is a long lasting tire that has a safety benefit of being able to run flat (at reduced speeds & rim locked).

I didn't finish the TAT & hope to next year, starting where I left off.
Not sure I'll run the Terrorflex again next year. Right now I'm back to the original Enduro Comp III.

Not to mention, mounting them up and taking them off is "bloody" good fun. That is one stiff bead. Adds at least 5 lbs of unsprung weight over virtually any other tire. I pulled mine off after barely 10% of the tread was gone. Not sure what the tire is good for...maybe a planter. :excuseme:

I'm hoping to hear good things about the new DOT Motoz :D
Just may be my next tire

Thanks for your input. I'm glad I asked instead of delving into the unknown. I've
decided against the Teraflex so I'm still undecided. I like to explore different tires.
The last three were MotoZ's (IT Enduro, Dez HT, Tracula) and I'm leaning towards
another IT Enduro but am open for suggestions for a good knobbie that comes in a
140/80/18 or 130/90/18. IRC MB5 and the Michelin S-12 ?? look pretty chunky. Again,
    thanks for the input. Jerry

I run the Teraflex on my 610, it works great for the sand and mud we have here. Also worked fine in Co rocks for me. Plus I can get a few thousand miles out of them.
The 610 is heavy, so feeling a few extra pounds of tire is nothing to me.
Would I want one on my TXC, No.

With S-12 good luck on keeping the lugs on. They seem to shred on the higher powered machines.

I have been running a s12 for about a year. I am surprised how well it has held up. The shop I bought mine at only had a 140 in stock. IMO it is too much tire. The tire has held up great even though I have a lot of street time on it. This tire is pretty expensive but it seems to wear a lot better than the 606 it replaced. I have a couple of hare scrambles and five day trips to the woods and probably 600 street miles and still have all the lugs and 70 % tread left.

Dunlop D 736 AT. That tire is damn near indestructable. It's the only tire I will run on my 610. It's also the only tire that's strong enough to take the punishment on my EML 650 sidehack.Hope this helps!

The only DOT approved agressive rear tire that I know other of than the Kenda 760 is a Pirelli XCMH. It comes in a 120 and 140. Wish they had a 130 because 140 is too big IMO. The XCMH front is the only tire I use for dual sport.

I am probably going to use a Maxxis Desert IT next, even though it is not DOT approved. It was designed to take abuse.

I shredded one in the first 60 miles of 80+ highway.
