Anyone here adapt a low fender from another bike? This is a low fender from a KTM 950 Adventure that my buddy put on his KTM 690 using aluminum flat bar to make some brackets. I just laid it in place to see what it would look like. I like it!
Read this as inspiration: http://www.hotrodwelding.nl/product.php?id=11 In my Strada I install front fender from F800GS almost without any alterations (only two new drilled holes in fender, used longer bolts with some spacer and cut a piece of plastic from the inside near to the ABS sensor) and replace wheels to 21" (rear to 18"). But in Terra can try replace axis clamp to one from Strada or use some adaptation like from hotrodwelding.
Can you take some more pics of your fender where it attaches to the bike? Did you purchase the bracket kit?
Why wouldnt you just use the Strada fender and hardware for the Terra? There is just one support on the right side that needs to be connected with a bent/tapped flat bar to create a bracket. It cannot be purchased from the dealer as it actually comes with the Strada hub apparently. Below is my Terra with adapted Strada fender and you can barely see the small makeshift black bracket near the hub. Best part is that the fender, ferring cover, and all the hardware were like $80 USD. Remember that when you remove the Terra fender the ferring is left exposed. Thanks.
I dont think the strada low fender will fit the 21" front wheel of the Terra. Someone correct me if im wrong though!
Not really. The Strada fender needs to sit a little higher on the 21" Terra wheel to clear it. I made my own brackets/hangers from aluminium flatbar. I have switched recently to Kayaba front forks, so the Strada low fender will not fit anymore. I have it for sale, including the brackets.
