Here is my solution for adding a Tool Tube on my Terra. The Tool Tube came from Twisted Throttle and the side racks are very tough BR-Moto units. My goal was to have the tool tube tucked under the rack as much as possible while maintaining the same up-angled alignment as the beautiful TR650 muffler. It's easy to access, clears the swing-arm/brake unit, and fairly well-protected in a fall. I used 1 1/4" x 3/16" aluminum bar stock for the bracket and a lap-joint exhaust clamp for hanging the tube. I chose not to use the integrated mounting brackets and just ground/sanded them away. The end result you can see for yourself. Clean install, very sturdy, and doesn't interfere with my Wolfman "hoops" bags, Expedition saddle bags, or side-mount Rotopax plate. And, yes, I will make another unit to match on the other side.
I have a couple of those tool tubes which I had attached to my other bike. I did go on a long ride with a 1 litre fuel container in one tube, and after about 2500km the lid had come off and I had lost my fuel. By the way, Twisted Throttle sell them with TT branding, but you can buy them from any farm machinery place like John Deere. The manufacturer actually makes them for waterproof storage of operator manuals on farm machinery and you can buy them for about a third of the TT price.
