These Lectron work so good I want to try them on a 4 stroke. In my mind there is no way a super simple single circuit carb can do what a very complex accelerator pump FCR can but Lectron says otherwise. If the Lectron really can run as good or better than the FCR that would be fantastic. The FCR is a ridiculously complicated carb and hard to deal with. If this works people could sell the used FCR for more than they could buy a Lectron and pocket some money, have a better running bike that is super EZ to work on. I just have to test this and see for myself. Kevin from Lectron has been super good to work with and has not lied to me yet so I am taking his info as correct and don't feel he would mislead me.

I am looking into borrowing buddy Blakes 08 CRF450 to test this on. If not I have some other options. This should be really interesting.

I bet this carb would be fantastic on XR, DR and other bikes as well.

Let the fun begin, again. Round three.

Good luck with that!! I have a CRF230F...from what I'm understanding the carb would work, am I understanding correctly?

I bet it would do wonders for those types of bikes with really simple budget carbs. Not bashing it is just that those bikes get the inexpensive stuff to keep price down.

This would be cool. It takes a lot of r&r to change the jetting on the 610. And if it worked, the cost is a wash as the FCR is pricey and should sell easily. Watching your progress...

I have a carbed 610 and 450 if you run out of guinea pigs. I would like to see better mileage out of both of them for desert dualsport. I sold my EFI 610 to get a carbed 07 and really like it but the mileage really took a hit. After changing jets, float level,, AP etc., I got some but not all of it back.
Since you write such good reviews, maybe you could ride before and after..... What ever, there are lots of bikes out there for testing.

Cool. Will it be tested at moto or trailriding? I ask because, while I have no doubt the motor will run well with casual or smoother throttle application, I wonder if it will be able to deliver the on-off-on throttle "snap" needed in rythem sections, step-on-off's, landing from a a typical jump, etc.

Glad this seems to be taking off for you !

I'm not sure when it will be here, but Kelly will test it trail riding. If It is here in time, and he lets me, I'll take it on my 2-3 day dune trip Feb 9th. I don't ride track though...

If this works on a 4 stroke carb version will it work on my '10 TE450 with iniezione? If so what will it take for this mod?

Love my bike but no so sure about the frikle injection and the dodgy wiring loom which is causing problems - torpeedoing many nice rides - so I'd love to make things simpler, reduce the excess wiring to bare minimum.

Also have a 250TC from 2010 which has a carb, little wiring and little probs. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I think swapping one for EFI might be real hard as there is lots of stuff the ECU is doing that might not work well with a carb in place. I really don't know but it seems like a huge hassle. IF if is not a hassle I bet it would run really good and not stall as EZ. my 2010 TC250 with carb was less prone to stalling than any EFI bike, carbs can be pretty forgiving at times.

Lets you? No I would never let a good friend use a carb  If we get this done before you trip I would hope you would run it / try it / report on it. the adjustable powervalve might be quite useful out there on the dunes.

Looking forward to this particular test. I'd love to have a carb with all the advantages I'm reading about on the 2 smoke conversions..

I'll be watching this thread closely

I did some research into switching from EFI to carb and found uncharted waters and many questions- flywheel, wiring harness, ECU etc.
BTW, it will be interesting if we can see how a 610 likes the Lectron.....:)

Got a big ass 40mm Lectron sitting here for a CRF450 test. I will not have time for install / test before this weekend which Blake already has his bike setup for. will try and snag it from him for testing after he gets back and then report. Should be fun.

indeed. I have a 510 motor I just bought to turn into a 530 and figured if this swap can go anywhere I'll try one and sell the keihin that it came with.

For more than the lectron costs. :>)

If it works the beauty will be moving from the most complex carb ever to the least.
