Just like the title says and the + side is it's also the best patch lube for cold weather hunting with a black powder gun. http://www.octobercountry.com/products/Bumblin-Bear-Grease-4-oz.html The bear grease makes leather softer and pliable while the bees wax protects and waterproofs it, if you know of something better I'd like to hear it. FYI, you can make your own by mixing rendered down bear fat with bees wax if you want to save the money.
I've only seen it sold by these guys as patch lube for shooting but have seen homemade versions of the same stuff. It works really well at making really stiff boots soft. The owner of October Country told me he sells a lot to guys in the timber industry for their logging boots so I gave it a try on my boots a long time ago and have been using it ever since + it smells good like honey.
Mink oil is good too, I've also tried trappers mink fat which is rendered down mink fat. It may be really good if heated and mixed with a little bees wax. Snow Seal is probably lasts longer as a waterproofing agent. My main reason for liking Bumblin Bear is how it softens up stiff boots.
