    Ok,
I'm an old guy, and it's hard for me to reach back and hook that rubber gizmo to the kickstand every time I go for a ride. It also forces me to get off the bike to put the kickstand down.

I've ridden about an hour without using the stupid thing with no bad results. Anyone have a problem ignoring it? If I were hillclimbing or something where it could dig in, or racing where it could stab someone, I could see it.

    Any comments?

    Thanks.

A lot of riders never use it and your stand should be fine. I use it when I know I'm going to be racing or riding a lot of whoops and jumps. I used to add that KTM piece, to my Italian Huskys for security, when I needed it.

those type of things like the stand retainer band and self retracting kickstand are installed to comply with certain regulations be they fim enduro spec or some tuv or eu street spec. i habitually loop mine everytime i put up the stand, most of my kato buddies look at me and roll eyes, they never do it....hey its there why not use it. i like when items are secure.

Last Unadilla GNCC I lost a spring on my kickstand on the last lap and the kickstand nearly drove me crazy flopping around on my WR250. Now I secure it w/ a cut inner tube to the frame as it could get ugly if it decides to take you out in a corner, or out of Gravity Cavity!

One of the first things that gets pulled off my bikes is the kickstand. The woods are full of stands.

my 2012 wr300 that i just traded in for the 14 te300 needed one really bad. when i was standing on the pegs i would kick it down and about take myself out on a left corner. Im glad the new bikes have one.

Mine always stay on, as they are just way too handy. Your not always in the woods and sometimes the dang tree isn't in the right spot! :oldman:

I suppose a stronger spring would work too. I've never had a drop-down kickstand problem on any of my jap bikes.

As long as it's not as strong as the spring on my 10 gas gas. It would about break your leg lol

Getting off your bike before putting the kickstand down is a ritual on an Italian Husky!

The stands are missing in the desert though.
