• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

KTM riders win both main events at A1. And KTM goes 1,2 in the 450 class. Congrats to semi local boy Jason Anderson on his 250 win and likeable 450 rookie on his first 450 win. The dunge was there too as usual.

An interesting point for me was when Ralph sheeheen commented on a pic sent in from a twitter fan. The fan was on an old husky. Ralph, who to me has never been very knowledgeable about sx racing or motorcycles in General said something to the effect of "will we see a husky in next years championship?" Maybe a little insider info leaked out?

i saw the twitter pix it all looked fermilyer wth now my spell checkers not workin damn wood burnin computer was that a cafe member?

No insider info here. There's a Husky juggernaut coming via SP ..

And yep on the domination of ktm globally and sitting now, right in the Japan ama bread basket. I'm so glad to see their overly glorified bikes pushed outside where they might belong ...They have had the ama playground handed to them on a sliver platter for how long but that worm is turning. Take RV2 off the KX & Japan is sucking, maybe forever because CEO SP is a racer. Honda and crew sees this as a business. If the yen $ payback is right for this racing\bike business, 2nd place is fine with their VPs and this is just another business decision for them.

Don't forget Shorty kept in the top 10 on his ktm also ... I was afraid he would get pushed out with all the young guns, but not tonight!

I wasn't all that excited to see the 250 class because of all the movement to 450. It turned out to be one heck of a race. They were swapping like crazy. It sucked not getting to watch Tomac out there. What about Alessi? Bet he was kicking himself, especially after how the heat went lol. I was actually really pulling for Stewart, that whole incident shows how much power those bikes have, it wasn't just some messed up jump. Awesome race that had me move from the couch to the edge of the coffee table :)

Always remember... The first European bike to win a Modern AMA Supercross.... FBF Husky CR125! Yes the naysayers will cry, but KTM should have! First rule of racing... To finish first, you must first finish. Langston blew it, by thinking it was won before the finish and Preston reaped the reward.... That's racing. Go Husky!

Edited....

I must have missed the comment about Husky. SP said he wanted to get back into the MX roots. Maybe we'll see them a little sooner then we think. The coolest part about a new Husky MX team is that no matter how the rider performs, they'll officially be a part of History. I'm sure even the last place guy on a Husky, we'll all know and remember who he is.

Wouldn't happen to remember what year would you?

yeah but WOW he was fast. Caught ALL the top guys and past them at will. RC was right, you have to commit in those whoops and he got caught. Just to the right of center was a back and forth kicker, saw it early in the race. When he move over there to past I was like "oh no" and yep, got him. He looked thin, focused, relaxed and FAST. Sucked that happened.

Sucked for Tomac. Expected more from Bracha. Alessi was interesting. Very entertaining and pretty well covered. Liked it.

you sure about that no CZ,huskies or maico's back in the day supercross has been around a looong time 42 years!!!

Yeah, I was bummed for Stewart. That was some NASTY fishtailing. And it's ironic that whoops took him out because he IS the Whoop Meister. No one rails through whoops like Stewart. He did so well up to that point. I'm hoping that he doesn't let it get him down and can come back strong. I do have to wonder about his comment afterwards about still being able to keep up. That sounds like a rider ready to hang it up.

yea i knew that wasn,t right Houston SX 3/15/74 Jim Pomeroy on a Bultaco but Kent Howerton rode his Husky to 6th at that race

He totally could have saved that...

Later,

you sure Norm no CZ, Huskies or Maico's supercross has been around aloooong time 42 years
Can-Am and Jimmy Ellis.... Thet are not quite European.... Bombardier, now BRP had already bought Rotax before then and the bikes were designed and built in Canada (except for the last ones built in the UK).

Yaaa....about Alessi. I understand being happy and all, but that was a whole new thing. Still, his ride in the first moto was pretty epic.

Bubba was flying and looking good all night! From section 527/Row C/Seats 1&2 we could see EVERYTHING! Bubba looked like he was thrown from a horse!

My favorite rider, Weston Peick, looked strong and would've had a top ten in the main if not for having to pull off mid-way through the main.

K-Roc took the opportunity he was presented and totally ran with it! He never looked back!

Lastly, met Andy Jefferson. He said he stays well away from Cafew Husky. I told him not be scared....
