http://motocrossactionmag.com/Main/...OTOCROSS-RACE-REPORT-DOES-GLOBAL-W-10915.aspx scroll down to the REM Glen Helen MX over 60 expert class. Note No. 66.....on a HWT 2014 Husky.
Nice. Gary Jones has actually been racing (and winning) on an FE there for a few weeks now headlight and all, made the pictures a few times. That looks like MXA's test bike.
If I had known it was going to create this much excitement I would have put white plastic and Husqvarna decals on a KTM years ago...
I know several people with HHusabergs who are going to do just that as soon as they release the hold on parts.
I know it hard for you guys to believe..... My Husaberg TE250 is different, albeit slightly in content, engine tuning and handling from all the other KTM 250 2T bikes.
I know they are all a little different, just as KTM's are a little different every year. I find it very interesting the draw the Husqvarna brand nameplate has, meaning the name is more important than the heritage of the bike. Not saying that is a bad thing, just interesting to me. I am going to shut up before I get in trouble. LOL
W R (water racer) thats the whole idea that Pierer and co. has, its all about the brand name, brand recognition, exploiting the brand name in the market place. All the moto media seems to be right on board with it. So the consumers jump right in, also now knowing that it is really an SX/MX/enduro winning Kato/berg in different clothes. we all know the deal, and this happens every where from the car brand market to the wine and spirits brand market
Beta is a great little Italian Company and Beta USA is being run a lot like Ferracci ran Cagiva USA. The Beta 250RR is a great bike and on my short list to own, but I have to say... When I rode one,it felt and handled an awful lot like my Husaberg and not a lot like my Italian Huskys. I told rasputin this and he said why wouldn't it? It's designed by guys who have either worked at or with KTM for years. KTM is their target bike, not Italian Husqvarnas. The Beta has some definite design improvements over the KTM family of 2T bikes. With Beta it seems you're buying the "Italian" as the brand and with the Austrian Husky, you're buying the "Husky" as the brand.... I'll shut up now!
When I rode Steve's 300RR it did not feel like a KTM/Berg at all to me. Really didn't feel like a husky ether but more like it than a KTM to me. Felt more neutral than both for a lack of a better description. WAY less twitchy than a KTM but somewhat less nimble than a X-light or 125 husky IMHO. Setup is everything though and I have ridden two KTM 350's back to back that felt like they were form different manufacturers.
Kelly, I know you've ridden a bunch of KTM 4T bikes recently, but have you ridden a new KTM or Husaberg 250/300 2T lately?
Agree to a point, but you can't make an accurate comparison to a 125 or an XLite. Compare it to the WR300, KTM300XC, Berg TE300, and GGXC300R. The XLite 310 makes less off idle thrust than a 300 2stroke. This and the fact that it is a very light 4stroke make it feel light. Plus 4strokes are just different animals. All the Beta asks is that you not be lazy. GGs and 4strokes stick the front even if your sloppy in position, the Beta wants you forward, attacking, and it will turn with anything out there.
yea but have you ridin a new Sherco theres like 4 Beta dealers in Missouri now the woods will be a sea of red it needs a splash of blue lol anybody weigh one yet the website says the 4t is lighter wth is up with that
Troy see the sherco thread, I am very stoked on how good the sherco 300i felt for me, as I stated i'ts like a further refinement of my 2013 TXC310R. Very very nice machine. And sure is a nice looking machine as well (all in French racing Bleu!).
