FE/FC Thinking of more power than my 2011 TE 250.. 350 Husky or Husaberg?

I've really enjoyed my 2011 TE 250. I've had it for almost 5 years and even tho it only has a bit over 1200 miles ( not sure how many hours) they have all been good trouble free miles. It's a great bike. It has been very reliable and other than replacing some parts ( oil drain plug. seat screw etc) I have really liked it. But....

Even with the JD jetting kit ( great product btw) I did the power to be a bit less than I want even though I am an older conservative rider. My friend has the KTM 350 and I rode it a bit and was blown away by the difference in power. Hill climbs in 3rd gear are a snap. On my 250 I better be hammering it in 2nd or it's over.

That said I have a few questions..

    1) I probably have a buyer for my TE 250. It has custom suspension from ESP ( 1 inch lower) front and rear, the JD kit, hand guards, a few touretech goodies and even though it's got some battle scars it runs great. It's really set up nice. What do we think it is worth? 4k? Maybe $4500? It's been taken care of with all records including a valve inspection two years ago. I change the oil after avery 3rd ride. Filter cleaned and prepped every 200 miles or so.

    2) I love the new Husky FE 350S. I like the KTM version as well but I know the Husky has some better bits and well.. It's a Husky. Love 'em. As we know it's a 10k plus bike new a few other things needed. I bought my 2011 Te 250 for about 6k new and put about $1200 in the suspension and jetting etc. Is this new 350 that much better? Is it worth another 200 bucks for the 501? Is the Husky better than the KTM 350 Enduro?

    3) There is a dealer close by here in Arizona that has a " leftover" 2014 Husaberg FE 350 with lights etc.. for about $8500. I know that the major components are all the same and almost interchangeable but is the Husaberg any better (or worse) than the similar KTM 350 or Husky 350? I know Husaberg has a great reputation but the brand has been eliminated. Does that make the deal worth it? It is hard to find much info on the Husaberg for obvious reasons..

    Thanks for an opinions......

The 2014 Husaberg would be fine but you'll need to budget some $ for the 4CS forks. The berg also has PDS in the rear, some love it, some don't. The 2014 4CS forks were a hot mess. The newer ones are slightly better. What year Husky you looking at?

I'd be looking at the 2016 Husky FE 350.. Either the 'S' or the none "S" which is easy to make street legal here in Arizona.

Interesting news about the 4CS forks.. I have heard that is one of the key features that make the newer Husky and the "Berg" better than the similar KTM. I'm not a guy who will ride the bike hard enough to feel a ton of difference. I'm 180 lbs and short so I will have either bike shimmed down a bit. The main question is buying a Husaberg a bad idea considering they exist no more. The brand is always been highly respected and it is basically a KTM quality bike without the "orange" factor. I'm just not a big KTM fan. The dealer here has a new "leftover 2014 FE350 Husaberg that I could get OTD for about 2k less than the new Husky or KTM. It would be cool to have a bike that not everybody else has but if parts are a pain to get I'm not interested. I've had a lot of trouble finding parts for my 2011 Husky for similar reasons.

To answer your question, the berg will be just as easy to get parts for. If anything, plastic may be hard to find bit theres always using the 14 husky stuff

Berg has the cool blue rims. Hubba hubba. I wouldn't worry about the Berg parts. Most of my 2014 Husky plastics say Husaberg under neath... It's all KTM anyway. Save the cash unless you're looking to sell in a year or so to upgrade. If that is the case the Berg resale may be weaker, but IDK for sure. It's more of a potential buyer ignorance factor.

After as much research as I could find, the 2014 Husabergs are very close to the 2014 KTM's.. In fact they are identical but the Husabergs have the 4CS suspension which is "better" than what is on the KTM's .. so I am told. There is also the " It's a Husaberg" factor..

    SO all that said.. "new"..2014 FE 350 Husaberg for 7k or a 2015 KTM EXC-F ( same bike ) for 10k..?

Is it worth 2k less to get a similar bike that is now a discontinued brand?

Save the money, you can also look for a leftover husky. My local dealer was offering 2k off of 15's

Yes but the new 2014 FE 350 Husaberg will possible be about 2k less than the 2015 Husky equivalent. So that is the question. I know there are very few differences and I'm a Husky guy but because this guy has a " leftover" 250 and FE 350 Husaberg the deal might make it worth going in that direction. All the parts are interchangeable with both the KTM and the FE 350 Husky so getting parts will actually be easier t han my current 2011 Italian TE 250.

I know we are all partial to Husqvarna here but is there any value in owning one of the last Husabergs ever made?

They are basically the same with the exception of the link or PDS at the back.
Unless you absolutely can't gel with the PDS get a husky, otherwise save your $$$ for a suspension revalve or some tyres and gas!

I have a 2013 Berg 350 and rode the 2015 Husky 350, aside from the linkage just about everything is transferrable (might need a fender adapter if wanting the new headlights).
Question on 4CS: it really doesn't matter what year as they all need a tweak and this fork is probably the most talked about fork in the history of motocross suspension so hit the search button - the spend is really determined on what you want from the forks and, not to be insulting, whether you can feel the changes that the clickers make before and after.
Question of PDS vs Linkage: I've ridden all my life on linkage systems (and this is my first 4t btw) and been on the PDS for only a year and l have to say (PDS has bladder kit and correct spring rate), the linkage system feels more plush than the PDS, PDS sits higher but the action is more responsive to the point of being a little to harsh but again this is comparing to a lifetime of linkage suspension.
Berg and Husky's don't have a kicker so it's wise to invest in a quality lithium battery or have the kicker kit installed.

As bikesparky said, if you can live with the pds then the 2K saving goes a long way on the suspension, battery, tyres, gas, ecu, exhaust etc etc ... good luck.

I'd say look for leftover '15 FE350's. The Husaberg is nice, but resale on Husabergs is tough right now. If you want to sell it 3 years down the road, a KTM or Husky will be easier. I'm trying to sell my '12 Husaberg TE250 2T and very little interest. I'm pretty sure if it was a KTM 250XC-W or '14 Husky TE250 2T, it would have been gone 6 months ago at the same price.

I would think you could get them to budge on the price of that Berg a little more. Being a new 2014 its only going to get harder for them to sell. I'm a huge fan of buying leftover. I'd also think about skipping the "S" or "EXC" model. Way cheaper to make the enduro street ready than to buy the D/S version.
