With the three wheeled Russian Rual, the Cam-Am and the Polaris Sling Shot being offed how much longer will it be before we see a four wheeled motorcycle being offered. The manufacturers seem to skating around a four wheeled motorcycle but you know it's going to happen soon. I'm surprised the motorcycle manufacturers in Japan haven't jumped on a street legal four wheeler yet. I believe a shaft driven 1000cc engine would give a rider a fighter pilot experience. It's time for a four wheeled motorcycle. It will expand the motorcycle industry to allow more new riders to experience motorcycles. I think it could take the motorcycle industry to new heights.
Then it would be a car. Like a Smart car with a Hayabusa engine. Do a search on Youtube, those thing really haul the mail!
Watch out what you wish for by the way. It won't be long before California bans 2 wheeled motorcycles because of the lack of safety -- and forces us to ride 4 wheelers.
The trikes exist because they can still be classified as a bike which opens up a lot of possibilities. Once you add the 4th wheel lots of regs to jump through.
Sat on some CanAm ones this weekend, high priced but looked kinda fun. My 11 year old daughter really wanted me to get one and drive her all over on it. Uh... No.
Have a standing offer to try one. The local dealer that sells Beta and Husky has been selling them since they were Bombardier. I keep thinking I'd rather just go to the snow and ride the sled without wheels and have more fun. Having to unlearn leaning into turns would be like my first and last ride on an ATC back in the 80's. I put my foot down to turn and almost ran over my foot. . Took it right back to the kid who let me ride it and said NEVER AGAIN!
Well the misses won't ride with me. A side car rual is one choice. Plus I could put goggles on the dog when the misses is at work.
Well Bigbill, she just might like a URAL. Don't know where you are, but you might check their web site and see if a demo day will be near you. Yes, my TR650 is much faster and more refined, but I ride the Ural most of the time! Oh ya, they are called DOGGLES..
