125-200cc throttle cable routing/lectron elbow

does anyone else have a heavier than normal throttle pull with the lectron/MP cable set up? my 300 with same set up is light as anything but notice the 165 is twice as heavy maybe more! snaps back fine, cable routing is ok & no kinks/sharp bends/pinching cable near new & clean. so am thinking the only thing it could be(which is different to the 300 too) is the little right angle elbow on the top of the carb? be due for a top end soon so will double check routing & flush/clean cable to be sure its not that. thoughts?

Got a soft one and dont really think its up to the job as a few times when used on a mates bike it never dropped back to idle properly ! Yes it may of been his cable routing but its been fine since fitting the medium spring, Does give a real light pull though.

i run the heavy spring, and it feels similar to a older roundslide carb. thats the feel i prefer. mine was very easy to turn with the medium spring, too easy in my opinion. i use sea foam deep creep for cable lube as i find it excellent! i do have a 90 degree cable so i dont think the angle is your problem.
i also think its kinda important to lube the cable on a lectron machine every so many rides, as a couple drops seeping from the cable onto the slide area is good for it. keeping that spring lubed there helps too. i love the lectron but hate how their slide feels with that little spring. im used to the old vm mikunis that feel awesome! of course you dont want to flush the carb with cable oil but a few drops seeping down there is very helpful to tame the "grit" feel cause by that spring and rough slide.

what spring do you send them out with Kelly? is there a way to tell from looking at spring(notches/number etc)? by chance were the original lectrons(unshortened) shipped with medium spring & newer version with heavy spring or vice versa? i did send my 300 lectron back to Kevin for the shortening treatment so he may very well have put the medium spring in then. medium sounds the go. hadnt really noticed that much until rode 300 coupla weeks ago with same lectron but much lighter pull.

i gave both cables a good flush through with wd40 prior to installation & put some 2T oil on slide/spring/rod area

so installed new MP cable(direct thread into top of carb type-no 90 degree bend/elbow) today on 125. flushed it with wd40 first. wow that's how it should be! so light now compared to how it was. im not saying it was for sure the elbow causing heavy pull as there was a couple of indentations on old cable housing that could have been affecting things too but either way im stoked. I actually prefer the direct thread in type with rubber boot, seem more waterproof imho. makes bike feel so much lighter too. problem now is that my 300s throttle pull(which I thought was pretty light) feels so heavy! think she just needs a lube is all

^yup. flushed out the 300s throttle cable too the other day. again wow super light now. amazing how much difference light controls make to the feel of a bike!

yeh theyre cheap & im sure very effective but I do it the lazy way(with clutch cable at least) by just laying bike over & spraying it down the cable housing

Having that thing motivates me to lube my cable more often. Just did both and clutch improved noticeably even though I hadn't noticed it was prob.
I use Blaster silicone for oring chains and cables, works great. Don't let that drip into my carb though A drop of premix oil for me too.
Also, I think it was Kevin who said to use a Scotch Brite pad to smooth any rough spots.
