I got home from my weekend trip and went to lube my chain. Wow, the rear sprocket is destroyed. I have 3 broken teeth and the others are so thin I'm surprised they all didn't just shear off during my ride.

Does anyone have any suggestions for some good long lasting sprockets & chain that fit the 630? Bonus points if they come in red.

I'd prefer steel over aluminum for longevity purposes, unless there's something I don't know about some magical aluminum sprockets that are stronger than steel.

I looked there, but don't see a 42 rear sprocket. Their front sprockets for Husky also say "Does not fit new generation Huskys. (250's and countershaft pivot versions)". I don't know if that means it'll fit the 630 or not.

    Standard gold, or custom red?

What size rear did you get - in the red 48 tooth is the smallest I see...

If you go down the page a little where it says "ON DEMAND CNC" on top of a gold sprocket, you can choose a red 42 in there. It's about an extra $30.

Here are a couple pics of the torn up OEM sprocket:

I replaced mine with a Supersprox - 44 tooth (I didn't want to go any smaller than 15 on the front). I removed the OEM one and was surprised it was made of aluminum. JTemple: how many miles did you have on the original?

That sprocket is in bad shape, how many miles? I see you have new parts on the way, but MotoXotica is a good place to go for the Husky special parts red sprockets. Did you get a red o-ring chain to? That sure is a nice looking combo.

Original stuff has about 9000 miles on it. I'm not disappointed with that. I think the chain I got is gold. Chain color isn't much of a concern as it'll be gooped up with lube all the time anyway. The new sprocket is a 2-piece deal from Supersprox that has a red AL center with black steel teeth.

I'm also replacing all the chain guide parts since they're all toast as well. What I really want is a BRP chain guide, so I'm trying to find out if their 610 version will fit. If it won't, I'll have to go OEM.

I bet the 610 guide will fit. Hopefully it does as it's a great piece of drivetrain compared to the stock crap my 2 bikes have come with.

BRP chain guide fits. I have 1 on my 630.

Same here, 15 tooth in front promotes longer chain/sprocket life. But I do have some related questions.

The rear sprocket I want only comes in 41 or 45 teeth. If I keep stock 15 front and go 45 rear that gives me the gearing reduction I want. Actually 15/45 gearing would be identical to 14/42.

However I remember reading somewhere that it's not recommended to have the rear teeth evenly divisible by the front, i.e. 45/15=3.0 This would also apply to someone who dropped one tooth in front with stock rear, i.e. 42/14=3.0 Something about the same chain links matching up to the same sprocket teeth more often or less often? Is there any truth to this or is it only a wife's tale or superstition? If it is a problem then I guess I'll need to go 14/41. Not quite geared down as much as I wanted and will also get more wear from the smaller sprockets.

Secondly any idea if a 16 tooth CS will fit on the 630? If I go with 15/45 I might later on want to go back to stock gearing for a long road trip. 16/45 is near identical to stock 15/42 gearing. I do realize a longer chain might be required for 16/45 though. I don't pick up my bike until this Saturday otherwise I wouldn't need to ask this question. I really want to get the sprocket on order before then so I can swap out the stock aluminum sprocket and gear bike down as soon as possible.
