You guys who change their own tires; is it necessary to coat the axle with grease prior to putting it all back together? The bearing are sealed are they not? The tire spins on the bearings not the axle anyway correct? I recall reading something in other posts about guys finding their axles dry, as was mine. Just looking for a little advice.
Grease will make the axle easier to put in and take out, keep it from corroding and help keep out water and dirt.
