OK, boys and girls.......in planning for our 2015 TM model imports. What TM bikes are you interested in purchasing? US residents only responding please. MX, or EN. 85, 125, 144, 250 2T or 4T, 300 2T, 450, 530?????? We are still probably not going to be able to import SM models initially, until we get the 4T -EN models DOT approved. 2015s should be available in the US in September 2014. Yes, prices will be higher unless we switch from "works style"(WS) bikes to "factory production"(FP) style bikes. "WS"= KYB forks, TM works shock, billet triple clamps, solid mount bars, natural white tanks on all models, "FP" = Marzocchi Forks, Sachs shock, non-billet triple clamps, rubber mount bars, black tanks on MX bikes. Please respond ASAP before May1 , 2014.

So now that CSI has figured out the source, what's everyone's pick?

I actually chose the FP because I like the suspension more. Just would rather it have Marzocci over KYB to stick with the Italian stuff on the bike. Apparently the Race team uses the stuff on WS models so now it's a tough call. I mean they are considered factory style race bikes out of the box so why get the lesser option? You are already paying for the handmade race bike, might as well use what they use

I don't get it why you say WS and FP models.
Here in Europe we just have options, Marzocchi or KYB, personal choice they both work well.
TM or Sachs shock (TM shock is slightly better)
Only the SMR models come with non billet clamps, all others have billet clamps with solid or optional silent blocks.

The main benefit of choosing the KYB over the Marzocchi is that nearly ever suspension-shop knows this fork (Yamaha, Kawasaki, Husqvarna all use it), not so with the Marzocchi.

Actually the Marzocchi are fine out of the box, the KYB definitely needs to be revalved for the majority of riders. I personally know a guy who couldn't get on with the KYB and swapped it for the Marzocchi and is very happy with it.

Bart, This is from Pete the US Importer talking about WS and FP, when he orders these bikes he has the option to go with a particular line set up which is best for marketing here in US market.
He is trying to sell limited production motos here in the US, its a tough market and its illogical. He needs potential buyer input to target this wacky market.

TM are @ 1k more than all the comp brands here, US folks always say "they are just too expensive"........but guys will buy all the comp (EU and JPN) brands and bling them out with wheel hubs rims, chains, sprockets, pipes, suspension, bars etc etc, a freaking set of wheels and your into 1K right there. TM comes with all that top tier gear. If you tell a SoCal Moto head potential customer you have KYB on your TM that customer feels better knowing that every suspension shop in the US has KYB experience (illogical but for sales you gotta appeal to the most clients).
PS those Red Marzocchi 48mm are some of the best forks made at the moment.

I say ZOKES! They got a bad rap but have always worked well for me. But I guess KYB more of a well rounded fork. 250 2 stroke and 144 2 stroke yee haw!!

Black would be great, blue would be a bit to much I suppose. I really hope TM switched the KYB's for the 48 Marzocchi's (the way I see it the Marzocchi's are based on the KYB but with PFP).

I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. Just pulled my 07 450 out of mothballs and am (re)amazed at the machine. I know the KTVarnas are good bikes, but man, when I look at the details of the TM, what I see is handmade passion... Hope they get a 250 four stroke lineup here soon.

You are very fortunate to have Gravity Racing (Ralf Schmidt) as importer of TM Racing in the US.
I'm from the Netherlands were he also is one of the importer of TM (also dealer), I've met him a few times and he's honest and very helpful he really stands behind TM and is very technical minded.
In the Netherlands we have a special TM Racing Cup (race for TM only), also 11th October there's the TM Cup of Nations on the beautiful track of Res Axel in Zeeland (you might want to check that out).
