I apologize in advance as I'm daydreaming in a sales training class and do not have all my info handy. Thinking of building a 430CR and what I have is 2 - 2094 500 motors 1 a 6spd 1 a 4spd. I also have a like new '83 250CR motor. IF i remember correctly doesn't the 250 and 430 use same crank and all would basically have to do is get a 430 jug/head/piston kit ? What would be best route to take ? Thanks in advance----Rhett

    cases are cases

    Rhett,
I've been told by more than one Husky guy , that the 430 & 250
don't have exactly the same cases. The crank shaft open is different
in size, but that the 250 cases can opened up to match the 430
    size.

Also read that crank shaft is slightly offset when Husky went from
the 430 to the 500. I looked in the parts books and there the same
case p/n , but the crank assy p/n are different.

So what i would say from that info is a 430 could be built from a 250
as long as the cases are modified & a 430 crank assy is used. And
also the 500 cases can be used for a 430 , but you still need the
    430 crank assy.

Your correct John 250 motor can be made into a 430-the webbing in the crank area has to be opened up. The owner a Key-time Husky in Wisconsin s has already done this with good results.

Yes, the 430 & 500 cases are identical with the same part number cast in.

If you end up with a spare 500 crank/rod assy. keep me in mind please! Scott
