I have been looking for a new helmet for a while now, and with all of Kelly's posts lately about the great deals he was finding, I went out on the hunt. I started out looking for a mid level helmet 150-200 bucks. I really wanted a high end helmet with all the bells and whistles, but couldn't justify spending 500-600 bucks on a skid lid. So off to ebay I went, searching fox, one industries, thor, and bell helmets. Just for fun I typed in Troy Lee helmets as I really wanted a SE 2, but knew they would be way out of my price range. I almost spit my coffee all over the computer when the page came up with brand new Troy helmets for WAYYYY less than they usually sell for. I quickly found my size, and found a design I liked and bought that sucker. Turns out that the seller was Toy Tech Husqvarna in Pennsylvania! They shipped quickly, and I got the helmet this morning. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. i have been parading around the shop wearing my new lid all morning. The fit is really good. My last helmet, a Bell squeezed my noggin for about a month before it broke in. This helmet slid right on and is super comfy. All the pads are removable for easy washing and lined with super soft material. Quality is top notch, I can't find a flaw anywhere. It came with a very nice helmet bag that's nicer than any luggage I own. The helmet looks absolutely awesome, much better in person than on the computer. And talk about light weight. I don't feel like I'm wearing anything at all compared to my Bell. 1lb 5.8 oz for a size large! I can't wait to go for a ride. So if you're looking for a new helmet check out Toy Tech's site on ebay. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/tthusky91/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25 Light weight? I'll be at that shop next week. Last time I was there I thought about snaggin' one of those Troy Lee helmets. They all fit like a glove and Scott's prices are great.
Nice! Sweet lid Clay I am very happy with Fly Racing and all their products, but if I were to ever switch brands, it would only be to Troy Lee Designs. With that said, does anyone have a good contact at TLD I could talk to regarding support for the 2010 season? Nice lid again, I dig it !
You might start by calling Scott at Toy Tech. He is a very big dealer for Troy Lee, and could probably point you in the right direction.
