• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 Dash

Maybe I'm missing something or maybe the manual is wrong or ambiguously worded, but what I see on my dash doesn't match whats in the manual.

manualpage.jpg

TEMP = Air temperature (AIR BOX) / Coolant temperature.
I only see air temp.

CON = Actual Fuel consumption / Average consumption
I only see actual consumption.

Am I missing something or is the manual wrong ? (my dash is in kph mode if that matters)

My observations match yours.

I learned a long time ago that when in doubt, ignore the manual. Italian (or at least Husqvarna) owners manuals seem less than perfect.

The only other (preliminary) observation I can make is: apparently no matter what is being displayed (time, trip, temp, etc) - once the low fuel light comes on, it will display Trip with the distance traveled since the low fuel light came on. Once fuel is added it seems to take a bit of time for that low fuel light to go out, 5 minutes?

-near the snowflake that indicateds freezing temps...my bike briefly has "map 2" in that space when the key is first switched to on. Anyone else notice which map they have? you have to look quickly as it goes away within a few seconds.

Same with me, only air temp, and actual consumption. I also have the "map 2". The snowflake is in intended for possible icy road conditions. 37.4 degrees and below. Also, my air temp gauge seems to be reading higher than actual ambient temps. I'm thinking it's proximity to engine/exhaust may be the cause.

The low fuel light and reserve odometer is a BMW thing. Once the light comes on the counter starts and takes focus on the screen. I like the idea. It gives you every opportunity to notice that you're running low and need to refuel. I hit reserve on my Terra for the first time yesterday and didn't pay attention to the time it took for the light to go out after refuelling. On the BMW it resets after 2 miles (or 2km I think). I assume Husqvarna will have the same timeout setup.

After reading a few replies I had a brainwave and checked the manual for the Nuda 900 and sure enough, it has the same dashboard. They have just used the same dash for the TR650. This solves two questions. Firstly, my question, these TEMP and CON displays are probably multi function on the Nuda. They have cut and paste that section of the manual word for word from the Nuda manual. Secondly, the Map I and Map II functions are available on the Nuda, which has a normal EFI map and a "Rain" mode which will deliver less power to the ground.

Map 1 is probably the neutered version that they sell overseas to people who just got a motorcycle license - it's like 38 hp instead of 58.

My Terra has 3000km already. Somebody has problem with the dashboard in changing display buttom??. mine do not work anymore.
I match all the reasons.. air temperature is very optimistic, and reserve level it do not give the main information, how many km can you do with the
resting fuel..
terra 650, even thought, amazing motorbike.
