I had an idea this morning to generate an open map using Google maps that owners can collaborate on. This will have two purposes: 1. to help people locate the nearest service center with a MOSS tool 2. to allow other TR650 owners to see which other owners are around them for help or setting up group rides The 2nd option is entirely voluntary, and I suggest only putting down a marker that shows the town or approximate location you live in, and not the exact location of your house. Maybe put the marker on your favorite eatery, bar, etc. It would be neat to get a broad idea of which part of the country TR650 owners reside in. If majority prefers, I can make the map private and only allow access to a list of people, lemme know what you think. I went ahead and pinned myself and the nearest dealer to me with the MOSS tool. Please use the standard 'pin' marker for designating your town, and use the star shaped symbol for marking MOSS tools. If you would, please include the name and/or address of the dealer to make it easier for others to locate. Here is the link, feel free to collaborate. https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=z4Yvj1L3hwoM.kky9_o3lJhJI PS The scroll/zoom feature doesn't seem to work for some reason on my computer, so use the buttons on the bottom right of the screen to zoom in/out.
When I try the map it wants me to sign into google , make an account , ect. Can this be done without doing all that? Anyway cool idea. I'm in Lansdale PA 19446 My dealer is Montgomeryville Cycle Center Hatfield Pa 19440 and they have a moss tool .
RE, My pin is in the wrong location and I can't change it. When I log in to google there is no option to change or edit it and the map says it is for view only.
I had to change the settings because everytime it was edited and saved, all of the defaults would change. Where should your pin be at HuskyKT?
I fully understand. I have not done much with Google Maps but I know what I have done seams screwy. Jackson Missouri.
I would like to add a PIN for a MOSS at Toytech in Grantville, PA. You can add a pin for my location in Hagerstown, MD. Thank you sir.
Just purchased a TR650 Terra at JT Cycles in Battle Creek, MI and they have a MOSS tool. I'm in Davison, MI.
How can I be sure the Terra I picked up today has had the MOSS update? It's a 2014, dealer said it was most likely done, but the tech later didn't seem absolutely sure. It was a nervous ride home! Didn't want to stall at a light like a noob...
also, the dealer does have a MOSS tool, but they just loaned it to their sister store, so it wasn't available today, when I picked up the bike.
I am having trouble trying to pin my location. What is the step by step instruction for a computer illiterate old guy?
Send me your info and I'll add it. I had to change the settings because every time someone added their own pin, all of the map preferences.
The location for Vancouver, BC is just city hall. I do't think rolling in there will do anyone much good.
