So as I get older the 13 zx10r was getting a little and to uncomfortable to ride. Too much lean over the bars and the seat was like plywood. I traded up for its big brother a 13 zx 14r dual two brothers exhaust super clean has a few other extras but what a great bike. Seat is super comfortable and I put 1 inch heli bar risers on which made a huge more comfortable difference. I bought the zx 10 brand new and paid cash but I made a deal for the zx14 with no cash difference. At almost 50 comfort seems to be making some changes in my riding and maybe it's for the best? Zx10 had 3500 miles zx 14 has 6000 miles I just kinda feel like I gave in this old thing kinda sucks... image.jpeg white is new bike green is old one. image.jpeg

dont understand the "giving in" you are talking about...your new zx is a missile...maybe not as agile?

When I hit 40 I started to realize that age just makes us realize what is actually fun, and what is just painful.

I agree with all of you and the 14 is an amazing bike. The 10 was the first bike I walked into my dealer and paid cash for so I guess it's more of a sentimental thing. Both are super fast and the 10 red lines in the mid teens where the 14 just over 10 so it's a bit of a learning curve not revving the 14 out like I could the 10. The seat on the 14 is like a couch and I can almost sit up right with the bar risers. The 14 is big and heavy but so stable and smooth plus I found in 6th gear you can lug it around at 25 mph and roll on the throttle and haul butt. Thinking about some bags for road trips instead of a back pack...wow iam getting older lol

Almost forgot wife and kids thought I needed a new helmet which I've been eyeing for quite a while but didn't want to spend the money on. They bought it for me for my bday a couple weeks ago and a total surprise. I'm feeling pretty lucky image.jpeg shoei gt air wanderer super comfy too

Lol I think it's limited at 186 ish mph and the torque is just stupid. I know with Brock's reflash 200 mph ish is very realistic. The 10 had all its power in upper revs like a 2 stroke where the 14 is a torque monster and pulls hard all the way through. Just need more seat time and all will be good again in my world

I'm a die hard back pack Dakine fan with the bladder but now I'm gonna rethink it. Some small bags above pipes would be nice plus mounts are already there. Balance of the back pack is nice on a sport bike but I think it's time for a change

Have a nice tank bag but never used it cause it always seemed to get in the way leaned over but now it may work nice. Gonna try it n see plus tank is metal so magnets will now stick

Either way, awesome bike! Would make a mean touring bike :). Now you just need to stretch it out, add a ton of chrome, and hang out at the local gas station :)
