TE/TC Trail Tech Exhaust Flange protector

I questioned the use of this item for a while, one of my crew is a believer after suffering a flange crack. As for me I go through pipes like crazy bashing them and putting stress into the flange. Also I consulted with Trail Tech Rep./Café member. Well to add to that for 2017 The hard parts catalog has one included just to justify the item further.

I put one on my 2015 300. Seemed too cheap and easy to not install it.
