I installed a Trail Tech Vapor (75-102) with Vector Dashboard (022-PDA) on my 2008 Husqvarna SM610 because my speedometer stopped working. The wiring for the dash lights was a little confusing and I didn't find any posts that clearly explained it.. I'm not positive about other models/years but I'm sure this works for my bike. *Feel free to tell me better ways to do things and better products but this cost $49.99 (on 3/28/2016) and fits my needs. First thing to do is remove the old dash and hook up the Vapor. This part is pretty foolproof. 1.Wrap the ignition sensor around the coil 5 times then electrical tape it and zip tie it. The tac numbers will bounce but the visualization bar seems to stick around the average of the numbers. 2.Install the new speedometer cable or use the old one. The old magnet is probably still in place and works fine. 3.Install the temperature sensor by cutting a straight part of the radiator hose and installing the sensor. I put it in the longest straight tube that is towards the center of the radiators. I assume this is the coolant intake because it reads 160 to 175 when riding, but good enough. Putting the sensor in the radiator line at the exit of the engine will give a more accurate reading of engine temperature. Read the programming instructions; the temperature on the first screen is the air temperature, not the coolant temperature. 4. Connect to battery. Now wire the Dash. 1. Cut the plug off all of the little lights that came with the dashboard. Cut off the plug that went into the back of the old dash, leaving as much wire as possible. Your lights are going to be Left turn signal, Right turn signal, Neutral, and Low Fuel. You can set shifting warning lights and temperature warning lights in the Vapor. Don't push the lights into the dashboard yet; we still need to bolt it in. 2. Connect one wire of each turn signal together and connect to dark blue. The other wire of the Left turn signal to sky blue. The other wire of the Right turn signal to red/black. Do not try to have one dash light for both turn signals because all turn signals will turn on. Regarding the picture, the colors of the warning light wires don't matter. 3. Connect Neutral to red and white/brown. 4. Connect low fuel to brown and yellow/white. You will have yellow/black, white, and grey left over. Now mount the Vapor with dash. It seems that no two people have mounted this thing the same way. First I tried using the plastic handle bar mount but that broke the first time I tried to push a button. Here is what I did that seems to work pretty good (sorry I don't have measurements). I suggest purchasing a variety of sizes and returning whatever you don't use. 1. Get a straight bracket that covers both sides of the metal headlight bracket. If you are as lucky as me you will find that the holes happen to match up perfectly with the holes from the previous dash. If you are unlucky, cut and drill it. 2. With the metal plate in place and making sure the Vapor fits, use the bent metal bracket that came with the Vapor to mark 2 spots on the plate and drill it out. 3. Connect all wires and push the lights into the rubber of the Dashboard. Double check that you have the best route for the wires when you push the Vapor down. 4. Use two spacers and longer metric bolts to secure the Vapor to the plate. Bolt the plate to the headlight frame. There! You are done. Feel free to mash the buttons as you program the Vapor. It's solid as a rock!
