    Hi all,
I've had some problems with my speedo on my 07 TE450, I've found a break in the sensor cable. It has already had 2 repairs so I'm going to replace it regardless.
I've been quoted $100 from my local husky dealer for a new one, but I'm thinking that it might be a better option to buy a Trailtech Vapour unit that comes with the sensor as well. these are only $160. anyone use a trailtech and how well do they work, are they a simple connection or did you need to rewire the unit?
    Thanks joker[IMG]

My vapor has been OK for ~2ys ... The water temp has been a little flaky ... Hook was easy as I just wired it to my battery but it can also run off the stator also ... Mine was $120 but 2 yrs ago ...

Also, mine has a small issue when running off the stator when the engine is not running .. It has its own battery that should operate it when the engine is not running ... this many just be a battery issue and not the device itself ...

This device has been on my bike over many many jumps on small tracks and it still works ... Durable yes, at least for me, rained on many times, exposed to hot sunshine and still OK ... same as my trail tech light .. both have been durable and the company has emailed me also when I did have questions ...

I wanted a vapor for the RPM display but when riding on trails \ tracks, it is about impossible to look down so I'm still going by sound usually ...

When I installed a Trail Tech Vector on my 07 TE510 the stock speed sensor plugged into it. So you could get a sensor from Trail Tech at a better price. Will be installing a Vector on my new 11 TE 310 so I can have an adjustable on the fly milage.

thanks for the replies, I have used a vapour speedo on my yz426f and found the tacho to be a bit average, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. on the TE I was thinking it may work better as it will be running off the bikes power supply other than its own battery. is it as easy as just unplugging the stock dash unit and plugging in the trailtech one? I know you have to install the temp sensor but does the tacho and power share common plugs to attach it or do you need to modify it to suit??
I looked into getting a trailtech speedo sensor, unfortunately for me I live in Australia, there is no local distributer to get spare parts from, so it will have to come from overseas, the best price I've been able to find so far is around $80. anyone recommend somewhere who post to Australia cheap??

Yep, off the stator, my vapor sometimes needed to be reset to start ..which was just a button punch but I'd forget sometimes ... Off the battery on the bike, no issues ...

Mine was mounted on a TXC model so I had to make all the connections so I'm not sure on a direct hook up to a TE model ...

Just the speed sensor cable that was on my TE 510 had the same plug as the Trail Tech the other connections will be more work.
