On 2007 the steer stop is on the bottom clamp. On 2012 the steering stop is on the frame of the motorcycle.

I have a 2006 Wr 250 which came with 45 mm forks I just put a set of triple clamps from a 449/511 on my 2006 WR they fit rite on no problem Yes the steering stop is on the lower clamp of the 2006 bike and on the 449 the steering stop is on the frame BUT when I also added a BRP steering stabilizer the bolts that hold on the steering stabilizer stick down thru the upper clamp and are perfect in line as a steering stop SO at this point no need to weld steering stops on the frame
Now why did I change because I wanted a set of Zip Ty Racing worked over 48 mm KYBs BUT to make them fit had to change EVERYTHING the clamps both upper and lower, stabilizer mount , front axle spacer, front brake caliper
and get a number plate lower holder from a newer bike BUT it was worth it as now my old 2006 WR 250 has the new forks almost as good as my Ohliens and also has the Ohlines rear shock along with all the other stuff the new WRs come with there really is no difference from a 2006 to a 2014 BUT wait Husky has a new owner and the new owner has said he wants a new change a new direction for the future so stand by the new 2014 and 1/2 year Husky is different and the 2015 will ever be more different

So what your saying is you have an under bar damper and use the mounting bolts for the stop and they just hit the frame and mar it all up?

I used the pin and new bearings that came with the new pin all went together nice and worked great

that does not sound good. Mash the frame and bend the bolts.

No the BRP kit has a frame mounted bold on, to the frame steering stabilizer braket. Even tho it is a bolt on I always tack weld it to the frame. In the front of it behind the number plate is where the pinch bolt goes sideways. The under the bars stabilizer braket is held on with 2 bolts that stick down. As you turn from side to side the bolts are in the perfect location to act as a steering stop, when they hit the pinch bolt. Never do they hit the frame. NO That is not what they are for REPETE that is not what they are for. But I wanted to go riding for a test and it works great. Should I weld 2 adjustable stops to the frame front part like my newer WR has. Yes Will I do It? Maybe so. No my frame is not getting mared up. It is a dirt bike I beat the heck out of it and have fun. This is prime riding time here in So Calif. Maybe when I get time, I will put the stops on it. But for now I am out riding. Side note we were out in Johnson Valley over the weekend testing for King of the Moto and it still is working great. The 250 is so much better then my 165 on the big hills. My son will race the 250 at KOM I might just ride my 300. I did ride the 165 all day testing but it just has a hard time on the big SANDy hills. The rocky hills no problem. Can post some video from the weekend if you guys want

Yeah I can see that. Most of us that love the 125's are deep in the woods.
