Turn signal connector type

    Does anyone know they name/type of the connector on the rear turn signals? I am trying a custom setup and wish to make it as plug and play as possible...without hacking up the stock signals. Thnx!

    I'm a long ways away from my bike right now, but if you post pictures I can likely identify it. I've built more pin-style connectors than any one man should ever have to do.

    Looks like a Bosch/Tyco dynamic connector, maybe. Look at the back of the plug, where the wires enter the connector. Chances are that they are simple crimp on connectors that can be simply removed. So essentially, you'll remove the end from the tail lights and reattach it to the bare wires of the new lights.

    Or, if you want to save some money down the road, just replace them with simple, non-proprietary connectors. These are rugged, simple, and easy to replace when on the road. They come in 2, 3, and 4 wire variants for about $1.50-$2.50 a piece. Buying bulk can bring the price down. I bought about 20 of each variant a few years ago from Alibaba or some Chinese company. The whole order cost me about $50 shipped. Every time I do work on lights, I replace the factory connectors with these. I also keep a couple spares in the toolkit on long trips. End result is all my bikes are interchangeable and easy to repair should their ever be a problem. I even took a male end of each connector to make a tester for quick troubleshooting.

    Sorry to revive a old thread but just wanted to add some info for those who want to add aftermarket turn signals to their Terra's or Strada's.

    I am currently in the process of installing Rizoma turn signals on my Terra and I found out that the connector is a generic BMW one. So I can make it pretty much plug and play with my Rizoma turn signals by using their cable kit.

    As you can see under technical info the generic BMW connector named EE078H is exactly the same as the ones found on the TR650s.

    Update: I have installed the Rizoma LED turn signals that I have left from my old bike and installed them on my Terra. I ordered the EE078H adaptor kit shown above and that made the plug 'n' play install extremely easy.
    Another thing that I noticed is that I didn't need any resistors to slow down the turn signal frequency which is weird because the Terra stock turn signals are 10W bulbs. According to the installation guide I had to use one resistor but that turned out not necessary. This is also the first time I encountered this, with my previous bikes I always had to install resistors or swap to a LED flasher relay.

    Is it possible that the Terra flasher relay automatically adjusts to the type of turn signal installed? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, my electrical knowledge isn't that great.

    The TR650 dash controls the flash rate of any indicator bulb/LED connected to that circuit.
    I've fitted the BMW 800GS LEDs to mine plug'n'play.
    Still looking for a reasonable supplier of thse connectors.
