Update on UpTite Exhaust

    Thought I should report back with my impressions of my new exhaust pipe made by George Erl of Uptite. It has been a couple of weeks since I purchased the pipe and today was the first time I got to ride my 86 LC 500xc with the new pipe mounted.

    Hungry Valley, CA is my normal riding area and today I pretty much had the valley to myself. Lots of single tracking through the mountains and the old 500 just pooped right along with nary a complaint. Need a little power...just whack the throttle and it's there. That is what I have learned to love about the 500; lots of quick power in reserve. Motor idled right down during the slow hilly sections and the exhaust burbled right along.

    Rounding down into a long flat section, I wicked the throttle a bit, to get her rolling, and when I hit third I grabbed a handful. The rpm's climb and the new pipe hit and I was into warp speed in a nano second. I recall thinking that I'm gonna have to really hold onto to this beast....and away we went, me holding tight, and that Uptite exhaust just a wailing a nordic battle cry! It was a linear explosion as I was catapulted forward faster and faster as I grabbed 4th and then 5th gear. Forget 6th gear....I was running out of road and time. It is hard to adequately described the power this motor now puts out with the new exhaust. "Amazing" certainly comes to mind.

    Kudos to George, his exhaust pipe performs as he said it would. It is beautiful and fast!

    Love Hungry Valley. We called it Gorman in my day. Grew up in southern ca riding Gorman back in the late seventies. Really miss that place.
    Back then it was opened up. No fences, no nothing. Jealous!
